I love Monday.
everyday..... -
I am adblock user
-
@kristiandavid love Jekyll
-
@vexioz not in my case...😇
-
@vexioz what???
what is the replacement? -
@heyheni upwork is better than freelancer?
when upwork was odesk, I tried a lot, but couldn't get any project....
still I haven't got any project from freelancer, but there are lots of projects on freelancer. -
@Suiyans I don't want to do freelancing forever.
I want to do a startup.
I want to create a product which will help a lot of people and will make money too.
but before that, u have to learn.
and have to come up with a good idea.
to execute the idea, I will need money, that's why I am going for freelancing to save money for future business. -
@Suiyans I am in the final year of Computer Engineering.
I choose to do freelancing rather than job.
because in India, salary for web developer is about $120-$150 per month.
and it sucks.
I am new to freelancing.
just getting started.
I have seen many fellow freelancers making $1k to $5k per month.
even more.
most IT companies here hires freshers at $120 per month and does freelancing on freelancer.in worth $3k to $5k -
@Suiyans the main purpose of learning Phalcon will be to create a video course and sell it on Udemy.
right now I am learning Jekyll and working on creating a video course with title 'Blogging with Jekyll and GitHub Pages' -
@Suiyans yes,
read a lot about it.
kind of one sided love.
when i tried to use that for a friend's web app(simple invoicing system) I found out that it doesn't work with my shared hosting plan.
so had to leave it.
did that project with CodeIgniter
Now I am learning how to use vagrant and it is taking me too long because internet speed here is too slow and I have to go to my friend's office to use the broadband connection of 1Mbps
I am thinking about getting my hands dirty with Phalcon PHP, as it is the fastest framework available.
can you suggest me whether to learn Phalcon or Laravel. -
@Suiyans in one project, I used CodeIgniter
-
@champion01 I came across Digital Ocean cloud.
they just launched Data center in India.
it is affordable.
is Microsoft biz spark good for PHP? -
@vinerz you are not clear about unresponsive?
or you are shocked because who in the hell pays for making a responsive website to fixed width website? -
@jeeper that is true.
I am Indian too.
those other developers snatches projects at low price.
doing job here is too hard.
a beginner web developer can only get around $100-$150 per month.
imagine.
just $100-$150 per month salary.
and local clients of India don't want to pay more than $100 for a complete Web app or an ERP.
it is too hard be developer in India.
I am thinking about starting to sell video courses on Udemy.
can you suggest a method to earn money in this competitive market? -
@Jumpshot44 yes I learned.
I was struggling on freelancer.com
I couldn't get any projects.
so I tried fiverr.
and luckily got one. -
@jeeper doing job?
-
keeping desktop version only.
removing the media queries, so layout doesn't become mobile responsive.
it stays in its form. -
just do it....
-
I never get any notifications....😕😕😕
-
counter question: 'will my employee/team leader will ask me to lie to customer?'
if the interviewer says yes, then reply: 'f**k this job, I don't want to be with the liars.'
and see the reaction....😉 -
super Genius.....
-
@ui-guy this means I have to improve.
and I want to improve.
can you please shoe the direction?
later today, I was reading articles about why people hate PHP.
and i doubter that I should not learn PHP.
but later on o decided to stick with it.
I wanna learn PHP at a pro level. -
I am not so lucky to have a car.
I don't have any vehicle.
It is just another photo form internet. -
where the neck I can send this request email?
so I have to pay any money?
I am also in India.
specifically in Ahmedabad (Gujarat)
it is amazing to see Indian here. -
@helloworld so I am planning to start an IT service agency from my home and save few thousand dollars and meanwhile working on identifying problems.
I think that monetizing the skills I already have is the faster way rather than learning new skill and then monetizing.
I know HTML, CSS, a little bit JS and JQUERY, PHP, CODEIGNITER, JEKYLL
can you suggest me from experience where the most money is ?
my path I decided:
1. Harness Jekyll by building 5 static websites for portfolio (trying to make real business website, even if I have to do that for free )
2. building a video course on Jekyll and selling it on Udemy
3. Harness PHP (learning rest API development, I wanna learn phalcon but it needs vps, I can't use it on my shared hosting plan)
now you pleas suggest. -
@helloworld I like to analyse.
I like to find flaws in existing systems and think how it can be improved.
I try to keep my hands away from any type of code.
last 8 months I did this.
I kept analysing the problems, so I can come up with an idea and make a product and become an entrepreneur.
last 8 months I worked on 3 ideas.
luckily, before investing money in it, I found those ideas are not viable by doing market research.
now I am in trouble.
means i need money to survive.
and jobs are not paying enough.
so I have to do something.
so I thought I should get into the IT Device business.
I talked to few entrepreneurs and mentor about this.
and they said it is the right path. -
@linxlad thanx.
I am using Jekyll for quick static sites.
but WordPress is also awesome.
have used that too -
@helloworld yea please.
I am a little bit of both.
I design websites but i don't use the designing tools like Photoshop and AI
I just write the HTMLS CSS
mostly I manipulate the templates the client likes.
now I am thinking about learning the real designing.
I am good at backend with PHP
but not a pro.
maybe intermediate level
please give me advice on becoming self employed.
salary for a web designer developer (both) is just around $100-$200 USD per month
and I believe that I can make at least $5000 USD per month as self employed if I am good at it and do high quality work.
I have seen many people making 5k per month working from home.
what do you think about it? -
@SD010 thanks.
I will check that too. -
@Unixlover I have bought 2 domains.
dotspired.com for dotspired tech
faizanv.in for my personal blog.
working on both website designs.
I am thinking about representing as an IT Service company(Dotspired Tech) to potential clients rather than a single person.
I didn't actually got you. what do you mean by buy a .COM and forget the small town
