@Floydimus Dark theme is better on the eyes as usual. But mentions are still almost indistinguishable from regular text.
I think ungrouped replies are bigger problem though. -
@fjrevoredo that doesn't seem "super" distinguished from the rest of the text.
-
@Floydimus
-
@Eklavya also, and most importantly comments and replies are not grouped together. They are scrambled all over the place only ordered chronologically.
-
@Eklavya yeah but it's barely noticeable. In most platforms mentions have a lot of contrast, usually the same color of the page color accent. As it makes absolute sense.
-
Yeah, PHP is effectively almost the same serverless. You drop php code on the php instance and it just works. You don't need any precompilation of dependencies, you can switch between versions (5.4, 7, etc). All these things are already provided for regular web hostings for the last 20 years.
Sure cloud providers like amazon and google added fancy autoscaling and other shit but calling them "serverless" and pretending to be inventing something completely new is just ludicrous. -
Yeah they have some retarded hiring process even for senior people but to be honest, you can't go there and still complain. Everybody knows FAANG have retarded and long hiring process with mostly whiteboard shit. How is he even surprised?
-
Doing serverless is the same PHP is doing since 1994, but for other languages like Java.
-
That's IT position, and it seem pretty standard from the IT people i've met on my jobs.
-
Yeah but leaving shit code around will blow up in your face eventually. You should always try to clean any mess even when it's not yours.
If you don't, is like laughing because the other cabin on the titanic is filling up with water. -
The CTO at my current company is pretty good. In my last company there weren't an specific CTO but the engineering manager was pretty good also.
-
@atheist the quality is a little shittier though and many applications doesn't like the h265 format yet. For example Plex TV
-
@Oktokolo that's the problem... you can but it's not the best tool for the job and that's exactly why we usually think some languages and frameworks suck, people use them for things they weren't designed for.
-
Most languages are useful to do something. The problem is that people usually want to use an axe to hit nails.
-
youtube ux is completely retarded. Watch later feature is so badly implemented it i curse it everytime i use it. It's just a regular playlist.
They even't are smart enough to mark as viewed all the videos you already watch and they can't even get a good sync between devices. -
Yeah, eclipse looks like it was done by a couple of drunks software engineers in the late 90's without no self-respect.
-
Yeah this happened in a lot of git systems some month ago. Completely retarded and unnecessary change.
-
6-8 is the best amount, backed by actual science. Anything beyond 8-10 will make you less productive on the long run.
You can always do a couple of 80 hour weeks from time to time, but you won't last long by trying to do it all the time. -
They should rework all these and at least make them sit in a ./config folder. It should be forbidden to throw everything into the root folder.
-
JEE is obsolete. Something like 80% of java projects are made with Spring Framework but there are lots of other depending on your use case. Play framework, Quarkus, etc...
-
yes. My first job was on a wp project. The project sucked big time, and it was insane. Thank god the project died only a couple of months later and i was moved to another project.
-
yeah, it adds a completely new layer of complexity to any project. But it's usually worth it.
-
can relate. 10 years later and i'm still 8 exams due.
-
It seems feasible but the tech is not there yet. Phones will need to consume a lot less power and wireless technology need to bump the charging voltage and distance while controlling the insane amount of heat generated.
-
Well, there are lots of companies that do exactly that. Auth0 for example.
-
Maybe most women just don't like tech careers. What is current data about preferences saying? Not everyone is supposed to have the same likes and dislikes.
No one seems to complain about the lack of male fashion models
