The worse thing is that I am not even doing anything useful or productive most of the time.

@Gnu-Not-Unix aMD let it slip that there was a serious bug with Intel when they added a commit to Linux kernel to disable kpti protection on amd. Intel's stock dropped and Intel PR let the beans out of the bag by publishing about the bug and that it affects everything. Google then one-upped them by releasing more detailed information. Originally this was supposed to happen next week but since Intel broke the embargo, everyone has to push their maintainince schedule up therefore, sudden reboots

@lotd not with that attitude.

@purpletoxicrain XZ. The UI is more or less stock. It's just Sony apps (which I personally like).
As for the speed, it's good. It beats my SO in multitasking. Camera is phenomenal in good light but kinda OK-ish in low-light. The screen is 1080p but really accurate. You can get the bigger XZP for 4k screen. It also has the newer 19MP sensor that does much better in low-light. Or the XZs/XZ1.
In US, the have fingerprint disabled and updates are delayed. But if you live outside US, I'd highly recommend Sony. -
@Kryptic0 😂😂
Then hides my phone because I have 72 tabs open. -
@purpletoxicrain that's the one with 820 right?
I got update last month and I already have an update which I guess is December patch waiting to be installed.
The only problem with this phone is battery. It's not bad and Sony has done great job optimising it but certain apps are power hungry beasts. I still get 5 hours on 2900 mAh battery. Now if it were 3400+ mAh, that would jump to 7 hr+. The best phone I've ever had otherwise -
@ng1905 your mobo might have an option to reflash UEFI. Have you checked that out?
-
@shellbug I have the same exact post appearance but with Lowe number of ++
-
@Lahsen2016 Instagram didn't have zoom featuresm for long time. And double tap to zoom images was not on by default unless you said so in your app for iOS if I am not wrong. And it's widely known that double tapping ig images likes them.

I used to use custom roms back during 2.x and 4.x days. Even got dirty and modified kernel and Android core. These days I don't really care. I'm on stock ROM, haven't unlocked or rooted. Sony is pretty quick with updates for now so my phone is not that out of date (8.0 on a year and half old phone).

@Alice you never know.
-
Play store. In the new section.
-
@squirvel it it were 1991 for everyone except the infrastructure to him.
-
@Alice I'd watch that.

Some of them may actually block of vents and cause overheating. Plus they get all "bubbly" after a while if you don't remove it. my first reaction to new hardware is to remove them
-
@NullnVoid yet they fuck things up somehow. Weird.
-
Why not have a script autologin for you? That said this does look nice.
-
Well at least we now know that Google has same standards for their content check as they do for other YouTuber
-
Because by default root has no password. And that's just stupid. If this has been the case for all macOS releases I'm surprised it wasn't uncovered until now. If they changed it in high sierra I want to know what's the reason behind it. This is system working as intended but default configuration being bad.
-
@theuser my biggest gripe is that Apple doesn't bundle a couple of type C-A and Ethernet and maybe Type C to HDMI/DP. Most people can live without using Ethernet but for now type C-A are a must have if not required. Same with an SDCard reader for content Creators. I understand pushing for type c but what about your current devices. These dongles are what should be included at the price
-
That's not a bad list but I don't get what op is trying to say.... Oh wait java... And vim... Yeah. Now I'm jealous.
-
@evantreborn for slack, sure. But there are one man projects like devrant for desktop for example that benefit from it. Plus for Linux, stuff like Electron makes the app selection issue less serious
-
@JonnyCodewalker well you can't complain, most UI framework for native platforms are are really hard to work with. Microsoft is doing good with UWP C# (although it even allows HTML frontends) but it's still lacking in a few places and not as simple as HTML+CSS. Plus none of the other options are cross platforms. Most native solutions don't have a GUI component and one that does uses HTML. Even xamarin is mostly logic code platform interdependent. For UI you still need a different solution
-
@xenira actually if the other person is using pc just for web and managing files and office works, it's better to just install Ubuntu. Did that for a couple of people and they never had any problems
-
We need a good replacement/alternative for frontend UI for electron apps. While it works, is slow as hell
-
It's a underutilized usb hub on an older MacBook pro. With CD drive and external drive.
First off, shy do you need a hub if you are plugging in only one device. Second, who uses CD anymore. Third, just keep the external drive on the side when in need like a sane person.
I do realise that all usb-C ports is a bit "ahead of its time" since devices still ship with type A and micro B (and even Mini B) combinations. But honestly how many times do you use those ports? I prefer keeping an USB C-A dongle or hub instead of fighting with HP or ACER laptops. Now if they removed the headphone jack from the laptops, that would be a different story. I was mad apple (and others) removed the ethernet jack but I realised I don't use that much these days on laptop. Now if apple included the dongles, is love that. -
False. Because while they are NaN, they aren't same values
-
I am always surprised how blocking Google and Facebook related domains break stuff all across the Web.
-
And I thought that the 15Mbps down I got was shit.
-
Charge your freaking battery. OMG!
