I really admire and respect devs here in our country that are helping to build useful apps to combat covid-19 pandemic but please, if the National Government already has this kind of applications or in their pipeline (covid contact tracing, qrcode checkpoint, assistance, etc..) please do not try to hijack by creating similar app and market it. Instead of helping it creates confusion on which info to follow (ie DOH tracking) and which to use. #random

I was in the middle of coding and checking our server status when this high-rank employee from the Admin office called me and was told to do this compliance document what has nothing to do with me or even our IT unit. So yeah, this is how crazy some government office work here in PH.

Oh my goodness! Philippines what are you thinking? You know "our" country is going to host the SEAG you should've started the preparation since last year. This is the problem "sometimes" in Philippine government. Those at top (management) thinks since it is IT, it would be easy to source out. This is also one reason why the IT Professionals from private looks down to Government IT.

Shoutout sa aming “Top Management” na porket computer ang gamit ay lahat na lang para sakanila madali lahat.

Apat lang kami sa unit namin. Yung Supervisor, hindi naman ganun ka technical (hardware/software development/networking, etc) tho CS grad. Mas focused siya sa multimedia and other office projects outside our unit. So kailangan talaga pag naka gobyerno ka dapat “flexible” 💪 ka. Maawa naman kayo sa amin. Yung isa multimedia/tech support, while yung isa sa networking/tech support/hardware at ako mag-isa lang po na developer niyo. Sa higit 10 web apps na naka deploy ako pa magmamanage/maintain at meron pang quarterly status tapos magdedevelop pa sasabihin niyo lang “madali mag program?” Ang dami niyo pang gusto kesyo file server/data backup and recovery, official email addresses, video conferencing ang yayabang niyo konti lang naman binibigay niyong budget. Nag ayos lang kami ng cable sa server room “with notice” at nawalan kayo ng internet aba tawag na kayo ng tawag. Kung tutuusin excel/word lang naman naka open or apps para matapos niyo tasks niyo. So ang bilangan talaga ng output ay number of web apps developed every contract? So paano yung maintenance/updates/bug fix/migration ano yun simpleng drag n drop lang? Hellooooooo!
