Big O lookup times? http://bigocheatsheet.com/

Unfortunately you need to reinstall the OS. Never ever remove any of the stock applications from a Linux distribution, especially python.
-
Not tried it with prime video (don't have prime). But you can cast any webpage from chrome by right clicking. I do this with other webpage that don't have casting built into their default player.
-
@Linux to be fair he is from "communist Romania"...and our build process is currently around 12 hours
-
@CrankyOldDev stop using vim for development!!!
-
@CrankyOldDev except all decent IDE's will highlight when you have repeating imports
-
Have been dual booting with elementaryOS fine for the last year
-
In case you haven't seen it, here's the follow up
-
Sounds like github
-
It's worse, they develop Scala

80 days by inkle. It's not free but just an old style pay once and enjoy the experience. It's a steampunk-esque text adventure/RPG based on Around The World in 80 Days. It was released years ago and I still end up jumping back into it when I just need a quick gaming fix.

Have you been looking at my clients codebase?
-
@call-a3 precisely
-
@ComradeEevee why do you think I'm talking to these arseholes, I hate my job too :-(
-
@amlove32 that's crazy. Companies that don't understand that we need to try and fail don't understand agile or iterative - they may say they do but it's bullshit if they can't grasp this idea.
-
@CorruptComputer but that's not the purpose of forks.
From github: Forking a repository allows you to freely experiment with changes without affecting the original project. Most commonly, forks are used to either propose changes to someone else's project or to use someone else's project as a starting point for your own idea.
Forks are either used to make changes to someone else's project or as a starting point in a new direction, but in a dev team it's a collaborative project, not any single developers so there's no need for forks.
Having worked on projects where devs have had their own forks and where they haven't, I can definitely say from my own experience that individual forks only make things worse. We had one instance where our commits started colliding between devs because the individual forks had no way of keeping track of the hash's across the different forks. And that was with only 20 devs!!! -
@CorruptComputer why would each dev have their own forks on an internal project? Forks for open source yes, but for a small dev team that just makes things more convoluted
-
@electrode I didn't, I just grabbed this from from Google and stuck it in an infinite print loop:
while True:
print """
<paste ascii art>
"""" -
git push --force
You don't want to have to deal with the conflicts -
@electrode just Google ascii art copy paste something from there
-
I need to be able to +1 this more than once!
-
@khateeb321 personally I'd go Option A. More diverse stack that will help your CV in the future, chance to chose some of your own tech, and better hours. I've done 12-16 hr days and it doesn't matter how good the money is when you hit that point.
-
@freakko not senior, "lead" (flat hierarchy). He sold the management on his approach being the correct one and they've let him run with it. The stupid thing is we have more experienced devs than him that are being told to take a back seat even when we raise design concerns.
-
@gitpush sod that I'm barely awake by 7am.
-
Stand ups moving to 9.30am my manager says, no objections? Cool, let's start next Monday.
I get in Monday a little late due to transport problems but still 10 mins before stand-up, oh stand up is now 9.15am, and why the hell am I late for my stand up 😡 -
@aravindio completely agree, hence why I don't. Unfortunately when you have crappy devs that wouldn't ever get employeed permanently but can still bullshit enough to earn £600 (UK) per day then they don't care. Even if they only last 1 month they are still earning more than the national minimum wage (per year) in 1 month, and they'll just go somewhere else afterwards, rinse and repeat.
-
Unfortunately I've seen many devs (usually contractors) fake it till they make it just to keep their day rate rolling in
-
@Akio sod that I'd reactor the whole codebase. If they have a shit fit you send them the coding guidelines for the right relevant language.

Give us more details. What are the respective tech stacks and differences in pay?
