@andrebreda Starting Win 10 on desktop with SSD is almost instant. <3 Even on dualcore from 5 years ago

Recruiters look for what their clients ask them to, so the client is probably clueless about what skills they need. Which means to probably skip this employer.
I don't expect recruiters to know technologies unless they specialise in tech recruiting. They recruit all kinds of professions, cut them some slack probably?
Just spam every conceivable software/language/tech in your Linked In, maybe there is going to be a match :D It's terrible, but that's the recruiter nightmare we live in. -
@iam13islucky Nope, but I was applying as a designer back then. You can re-apply after 3 months if you're rejected. Try to search their ads and see what kind of developers they are looking for.

Use Paint to draw it over the screenshot :D

No community/fanbase is perfect. Far from it. We are not prepared to explore the shortcomings of our own environments and are keen to vilify other groups. A better practice would be to recognize the good features of other ecosystems (other cultures, political parties, sports teams, hardware, OS, dev language, even different sodas) and in that way we can bring our positions closer together.
As a Microsoft fan,
I like Apple's hardware/software integration. Runs smoothly and that the system generally obeys the user. I am jelly they have Garage Band and Final Cut.
I like Linux's (mint) ease of install. You can boot it from an USB. Feels very light and stable. Very customizable. Makes you feel like a true computer user.
Windows is irreplaceable for gaming and Word/Excell/PPT combo has been soo good in the recent years. The system upped its driver compatibility game and it doesn't seem like it needs to be maintained at all. -
Don't hesitate to apply. I see that they are in need of developers recently, so I don't think they will respect their rigorous standards as they claim.

There is a free course on Coursera which starts from logic gates, building an ALU, Assembly language and... gets more complex by coding an OS and finishing with coding Tetris. It's good to learn basic principles of computing, but I'm sure it might be helpful for Architecture too.
https://coursera.org/learn/...
On that note there is also an architecture course too:

@shaji Sauce: I maed dis. It's from a meme template: "Has anyone seen..." Meme
-
@runfrodorun Hell yeah! Looks like fun. Can't believe they expected you to handle your bonds with that interface. On another note, The Sims was originally planned to be an architecture visualization tool. Maybe they should've just turn it into a game.
-
@shaji I am just now finding out about Microsoft Bob! My chakras have opened! It's hillaruous!
-
@GieltjE Oh yeah. I remember the NT versions of that era being stable AF
-
@forceQuit I can't imagine a more representative mascot for your colleague than Clippy. Clippy is love. Clippy is life! He will never die!
-
@bubble I was a teen when it came out. Had a lot of "multimedia" programs which were fun, but I couldn't tolerate the constant blue screens and install errors and whatnot

Simple: Bring Windows Millennium back.

@thatJavaGuy Therapists are like any other people. You can connect with somebody and other times there is no way in hell. Some are good at their job, some suck. People find their therapists maybe on their 3rd try. I found mine on the second.
I would recommend Emotive behavior therapy or Integrative therapy. These fields include a lot of presence and listening from the therapist. Seems like you have deeper troubles (like I had) and even a Gestalt therapist can help you, though I would recommend this approach for strong individuals (sounds counterintuitive, but it's true).
In the end, the technique doesn't matter. What matters is that you form an initial connection with your therapist. Seek out recommendations for therapists from other people - they will point you the right way.
Your state sounds a lot like mine before I started therapy and I'm telling you can have a much better quality and clarity of life. -
I'm going to be unconventional here and if you can't visit a therapist and like to do things on your own I would recommend the cognitive behavioral approach.
The Work by Byron Katie is a totally free tool based on CBT. If you fill in the 1 page easy questionnaire and answer 4 questions you will feel instant relief about what was bothering you. This works!

The CBT Workbook for depression helped me out of all of my recent depression episodes. I didn't even had to go trough all of it, just the starting exercises. I was out of my episodes in 2-3 days
http://b-ok.org/book/1003597/b1c4c1
You can also find it on Amazon
With these techniques I feel instant relief and that's how I know they work. Have your own litmus test. See what works
Since you are in burnout, there has to be rest away from what's causing you stress. Be open about it with people around you so they can lessen the burden at home and dedicate your rest to focus and work on yourself. -
Do you have a paper hole puncher in hand, cuz maybe that's how they expect you to code. :D
-
@CodingPrincess If you have time for side projects, do them. Looks like you need a creativity injection STAT! :D
-
I like how different your ideal workplace sounds like from the rest :D Maybe you could open a studio specialising in fashion/retail websites in the future. Oh, but you have to talk to clients. Noo :/
-
I wish I was a goddamn programmer.
Spending 10 years on design, which is extremely subjective and in turn unpredictable is excruciating. Playing guessing games with clients and yourself all of your working life is not glamurous. Programming is exact and measurable. There is comfort in that. I'm aware of its downfalls, I'm just sharing the design perspective. Well, at least mine version of it :D
P.S. I agree making pretty things is nice, but I would rather make art than design. -
@AndSoWeCode I know WP was crappy to work with, but didn't know it was crappy on the inside too. Why so popular doe? It's kinda amazing that sooo many ppl use it
-
I used to write short stories and fan fiction on my phone. I feel ya
-
Just wait till youngsters start coding in emojis :D
-
Nope. You all want to be him, but lack the actual skills and/or guts to pull off that kinda shit. So, he's more of your idol than a spirit animal.

Brings me great and unexplained joy to hear a developer struggling with circles in Illustrator. I am a designer learning how to program. Now you know the pain I feel not being able to construct a simple loop :D
We in da same basket on opposite sides bro. I feel ya. I can teach you everything you want to know within a day. I'm here if you need any help -
@d4ng3r0u5 I have a Pi with Kodi on it. Not particularly fast, but did well for last 6 months. Now, after some patches everything seems broken :(

@kenpeter Tried looking for remote work?
