Gladly every dev gets an english OS licence at my new company.
But I do feel your pain with german .Net exceptions...
At my old job everything was german, we even had to write german commit-messages and german comments

Our client wants to have the sourcecode on their premises
We have to log on via VPN on virtual machines where we work on the project. Performance sucks most of the time... and you always need internet access to do any work.

You just described my last two workdays 😄 hours of debugging and testing => 3 lines of code

I was the first at our office to get a second external monitor, now I can work on both big monitors and simultaneously watch alle the communication channels on the laptop monitor.

@ecv80 it doesn't matter how much sun there is, if you are always sitting inside ;)

You should get at least 6 hours of sleep everyday, and try to get out of the house at least once a day. A short 10 minutes walk can help a lot!
Maybe your nutrition is not what it should be, you can get a doctor to analyse your blood for lack of vitamins. Especially (but not only!) vitamin D is very important for feeling active and healthy. Considering where you live, you should supplement it, if you don't get enough sun on your skin every day.
Drinking enough water is also very important, at least 2 litres a day.
And if you feel you are really exhausted, just take a day off, turn off your computer and do something fun with friends or family :-)

You should at least get a stressball for this!

I started always writing something like this:
"We have the options A or B, if you have nothing against it, we will do A"

If the client does not explicitly answer that he wants B done, I'll simply do A. That way I don't loose valuable time waiting for an answer or discussing over unclear mails ;)

After a few hooplas I tend to show all (major) querys at least one person before I run them. Too much has happened in the past 😂

I tend to just pretend the music is so loud that I can't hear them. Sometimes it works and they go away 😄

I also had to learn this the hard way, if you don't like what you do and always try to please others, in the end it's your body and health that scream for a change. Don't let it come to that.

As I posted in another rant, i recently quit my job.
My mom got quite a bit of a panic attack; how am I going to live without a job??
Then I told her, i have 3 very good job offers on my desk where I just need to sign.
I don't think they realize how high the demand in (good) developers is...
