I think there should be also adblock by default and hiding popups by default also.
-
First website. I was 12 at the time with no internet connection and my brother used program like "website downloader" to download whole website jakpsatweb.cz . Sweet times.
-
Time to open cmd and type "color 0a". Hacker mode activated.
-
I would try to convince her that pdf is the newest ppt format in newest powerpoint 2018. I bet she would never know.
-
Chillstep :D

You would be surprised but many people prefer flash from adobe animate or after effects. Even some games are still made in flash but for me it was so messy to work with. Bad timeline etc. :) but remember Machinarium, Chuchel and so on.
-
Me :)
-
@irene yeah I have a small company for making websites since this is currently the only source of money we have. Trying to dedicate some earnings / time to game creation but it is so hard and so slow.
-
Sad story. Last time my gf left me years ago I was pretty unable to work for 1 month. Just from being sad or I do not know. But If the work is something that helps, then go for it.
I hope you get better soon! -
I am professional webdesigner also. Years ago I was a student which also used to think or criticize others designs. For example latest (or maybe last years) design trends were awful. I myself for example hate brutalism in design, because it simply does not "calm your eyes" and in my opinion good design is not visible but works good. So I love functionalism. And also hate colorful gradients because they behave badly on shitty user's TN panels. But what I was going to say is, that I learned that there are many other forms of design and not necesarry only mine is good. People come in different flavours and tastes, so design also does. They need to accept that there is also "other" design trends then the one they believe is right. So if you like brutalism, go for it. If you like minimalism, go for it. Your design will only attract people similar to your taste and that is what is all about.

I am having fake name for last almost 10 years. They blocked me twice, still created new account with the same name. I am not hiding anything but I also do not like facrbook policies.
-
Man I am living in Slovakia, which is like ass of Europe and wages are extremly low here, but website for 500$ would be like one page with no design. I feel you bro
-
More people == less work for us
Less work for us == worse wages for us
I am actually pretty comfy with current situation when finding good paid job is extremely easy in IT (but I guess that depends on region where one is living) -
Slovak here. At elementary school we have been taught MS office, nothing more. I went to high school of arts, graphic design, they taught us the basics of html/css and of course dreamweaver, nothing else. Then I went to collague as digital designer. They taught us html, css, js, jquery, php and mysql. All in one year. Most of the people did not understood because well.. it was designer school not a programming one. But all passed the tests in the end somehow.
-
Good luck, worst and best projects I had was with my gf. She most of the time knows what you mean but also you have to be very gentle towards your beloved because pushing her to work can make her.. Well.. Cry.
-
@webnoob Man I grew in 90s so I do not require from a text editor to look fancy. It does the job and thats enough for me :) + I still think when IDE takes 2gb RAM on blank page something is clearly wrong (speaking of you, visual studio)
-
And here I am in 2018 using still Notepad++ . Fast snd reliable, no ugly popups anywhere, ever.
-
This is so accurate. I am programmer and designer / artist both at the same time. A long time ago I tested girls responses regarding of whether I am "designer", "programmer" or "artist".
Designer = 10 points out of 10
Artist = 8 points
Programmer = 1 point (maybe because of money in IT)
Well now I am just "designer" in girls eyes everytime. -
@JoshBent yeah I was also thinking about that this way. Having win10 home edition which was shipped with my notebook and there were numerous cases about "sending data" to microsoft. I know those are two different companies but who knows who sells data to whom.
-
@maykdev Expected that actually. Using notepad++ for years and I am totally comfy with it even when it sometimes lacks some functionality. Tried various dark themes also but I am so used up to white theme after so many years I was unable to code and see things. So decided to let it be white. But yeah I know there are better editors already.
-
Looks like I am still living in 2010 man.
-
Naaah 3 popups each with fake close button, ad from top and bottom, slideshow with ads and black overlay with some quote of the day.
-
B.. B.. But... Can it run Minecraft?
-
Thats a rant as It should be. Like sir
-
Years ago, smartphones were no where around, moved to uncle's house with no wifi. On an old computer catched neighbour wifi. Actually learned how to hack it with backtrack just by bringing printed out short version of "how to do it" from hone. Took me 4 hours to capture enough packets to crack the passwd.
-
Fourth :D I guess no developer would use class-name since you can not doubleclick on that :D
-
Man I am living in a country where majority of clients are like that. And no, we are not indian country. People there want as much work for as low wage as possible.
Solution? Charge them 30% before the contract, in between and after the contract. After the thing is done inform them that the project is entering in "maintenance mode" in means every other changes would be charged hourly.
That works for me. From time to time I fail and dont get paid but it works like a charm. -
@heyheni as I am living with my girlfriend, it is easy to check all the work and tell instantly what to change. But she was pretty reliable in a means of work even before we started to live together. We use to communicate with dev mainly on facebook. I know it is not professional but consider that he is an old friend, and from time to time we go out for a beer or food. Sometimes I am thinking as if it is not a lack of respect of work for me and pushed boundaries since we know each other for years.
@kunashe Thing is, he knows he is doing it wrong way. He does not see the drawbacks of bad work. He would rather write 5 times the same code than a loop, even when he knows, that if an item will be added to query, the whole thing will break. He seem to consider it less time consuming and the effect is the same.
It is hard to not to shield him. Client wants to see the thing working. If I write him an email, that something is done, it is my fault if it isn't since I am responsible. -
Well, at least give a few bucks to the nice lady which is still not paid ;) normally, physical cash so she will not be mad :)
-
Nah that could not compile. I guess unity already told him on which line compiler stopped. Did not it?
