Depends on what I'm doing, but if it's something that can be done within 2 clicks, I prefer GUI. If not, I open a terminal :D
-
...a skill that anyone can learn.
It takes more skills to become a programmer than a coder. -
@electrineer Oh yea you're right. But this one feels REALLY cheap. It feels like a toy almost.
-
@tommyangelo I'm free, bby.
-
Merry Christmas, ranters!
-
@metamourge js libraries make me puke
@alexThunder yup you're right -
you.. backed it up, though. Right? Right?? Please..!

Nothing against VSCode as I've never even installed it, but I'm using Atom because of all the plugins I've gotten used to.
Muscle memory is a scary thing. -

That is some deep shit. Props.

When I was a kid, well, I still am, to my parents at least xD
My parents explained things in full details rather than give me simplified kid-versions. We often talked about their work, things that need to be done, people they needed to meet, what people think about them, etc.
I think it helped the little me understand that things are more complicated than they seem to be.
So even if my parents don't understand, I try to explain things in full detail with little to no jargons, because not only it's my way of showing respect, but because from time to time they give me crazy inspirations!
So kudos to OP, hope you keep doing that with your father! I'm sure he likes conversing with you about your work too, as I love talking about my parents' or my job with them ♥ -
@h4xx3r For starters, that sounds like I'm headed in the right direction. I think I'm a little, just a little relieved. Thank you :)
-
@Wolle sure, but a coworker at a new workplace telling you to slow down is just a dick move. It just looks like they don't want OP's boss to know that the OP is a better and efficient worker.
-
hope he was joking about that take a few days part.
-
@gintko thanks, I'll be sure to check that one out :)
-
Happened very often when I was looking for a job too. 'Most' of them were small, non-IT companies, though.
-
I send out emails to my users too. Even though I don't always like them (I am a human too!), but I NEVER, EVER, say anything like that in any form of communication. (I'm feeling thankful most of the times, until one breaks ToS.)
Anything being communicated over the internet can be easily misunderstood. Heck, even when I go out to meet people, it's easy to miscommunicate and misunderstand one another's intentions.
That CEO's letter is not unique, not funny and it just looks like some dude in early 20s being high on self-esteem and praises.
I'd seriously have a real talk with that 'CEO' if I were their advisor. -
such a beautiful young bunch! what did you guys do at the meetup?
-
i hope he was making a joke
-
@filthyranter That's what Siri should say!
-
@polaroidkidd
Mine was in the config for the terminal, I'm using Termite.
I tried using Compton for global transparency but I didn't like it, so anything other than terminal aren't transparent. -
@phacus and gotta make an alias for that!
-
I use Linux but I consider myself as a 'normie' when it comes to computing. And for a 'normie', Linux is hard to get around 'everyday computing'.
Yeah you can substitue that software for this FOSS, do this and that, or use WINE... But abanding something that 'just works' (Windows) is a hard and unneceasary decision.
So my point is, I don't blame you.
And I'm PRETTY SURE a good portion of people are forced to use Windows because of specifix softwares for work/school. -
@phacus Hahaha funny, because I'm actually running on a laptop too xD
@ganjaman I don't play the game, just like D.Va :'D -
@phacus
ArchLinux is fun to set up and a great way to learn how a system can be built.
I'm using ArchLabs, though.
I couldn't be bothered setting up everything myself.
It comes with a setup sequence.
Nice uptime btw, is that your PC or a host for something? -
@ScriptCoded hope you don't sit next to @irene
-
@irene imma poop on your keyboard!
-
...for those who just wanna look at my desktop.
-
@FrodoSwaggins
I try not to, because I can't take my keyboard with me becaude it might annoy other people. And my laptop has a shitty keyboard layout ;'D -
when your rant's comment section turns into battle arena :'(
