@Gregozor2121 get some lube for that, you're going to need lots of it.

Sooner or later, people will be sorry for this.

@Gregozor2121 being in love with Microsoft hurts. It's a poisonous relationship. I don't know what do they want to gain, but they HAVE some hidden goals.
One of them is facilitating themselves upon existing opensource projects and squishing whatever they can. They learn from Amazon.
They are famous for their "embrace extend extinguish" strategy. Right now they have all means to introduce bizarre, nontrivial changes to the git, and force everyone to implement, because, hey, they control most of the opensource projects! For example they could alter the protocol git is using, implement something in a way that will be compatible only between vscode and github. Perhaps something related to the idea of pull requests.
    We've seen that already.

    >> people want Microsoft to change
    >> Microsoft changes
    >> People bitch about Microsoft changing

@Stuxnet yes, of course we believe that Microsoft has changed and is nice and sensible like never before. And we have totally no reasons to doubt that remembering all evil and every fake (like OOXML) step Microsoft took in the past.

@mt3o Can you elaborate for we who are new and have no base of reference?

    @AmyShackles do some research.
    OOXML standardization process.
    SCO.
    Halloween documents.
    IIS and Netscape.
    FUD.
    Adopt extend extinguish.

Learn the history. Those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

@jespersh joining OSI frees m$ of patent infridgement accusations from other OSI members. You, not member, so can be sued.

Russia had Stalin, but it's so long ago. Do you love Russia now?

    I'm not blinded. I'm cautious.
