Yes, it's Win10
-
So... Can you?
-
I never had any bluescreens with Win10 and I didn't encounter many bugs. That said, it's pure shit compared to Win7. I don't really care about facebook, candy crush saga, twitter, cloud, flat design, ransomware, personal asistants and other modern trends, I just need the OS to run some software, and running that software without interruptions is the most important job I expect from the OS. Win10 has other priorities. So I prefer "outdated" software that doesn't kill running applications without my permission.
-
Personally I hate ads and in-app purchases, and would definitely hate mining.
-
And now you know how all politics work
-
6. Switch to emacs
-
Nothing more beautiful than an old Thinkpad
-
The only previous version worth 'restoring' to is Win7. I wipe that malware everywhere I can and replace it with Win7.
-
Because you mentioned your roomate at the begining I was expecting a love story about you two :D
Anyway, i3 is really great -
Nice lightening. Judging from the image you're more interested in photography than coding or this is a stock photo :D
-
@Jilano it's the future, we will :)
-
I hope that in the future you won't get to choose anything below 720p
-
@RiderExMachina I don't know shit about ordinary printers because I don't need them, the comment above was a joke :D The cheapest model of that Canon line costs 1200-1300$ and it uses 12 (yes, twelve) separate cartridges. I love suggesting overpriced (but excellent) products to people that do this kind of things
-
I'll help you out - Canon. Here they go: http://canonproprinters.com/
Don't tell them prices, let them find that out (ink prices as well), and of course don't suggest the base model but something like pro-4000. If that fails i can find you some more really expensive printers. They'll give up eventually.
On the other hand, these are actually great if anyone is wondering. -
I don't care about BSODs that much, but those fucking restarts on Windows 10... holy shit...
-
@Marethyun
Developers were lazy, but I kinda understand when someone doesn't feel like allocating time/resources for supporting platforms with small market share. What really pisses me off is Whatsapp for example. Removing support for BB10 is their call and that's fine, but fucking cunts had a nerve to add a popup whenever you start their BB10 client saying that you should switch to another phone. WHAT THE FUCK? I never used Facebook or Whatsapp since then even though I switched to a "supported phone". Regarding lack of WP apps from major players like Google: Microsoft did the same thing, I guess that's what comes with proprietary software and services. -
I have mixed feelings about this. I really hate Windows 10 and the whole UWP idea, but on the other hand I'm all about choice and this is just reducing them to Android or iOS. Also I never owned Windows Phone phone (the ones after Win Mobile 6.1) which makes it the only mobile OS family I haven't tried. It never attracted me to try it (because it looks the way it looks) but it's a shame I'll never get the chance to use it.
-
People threw feces at me when I "attacked" modern mobile operating systems for lack of multitasking (the real one, not this stuff someone from marketing decided to call multitasking). In that particular case it was Android so it's time to do the same for iOS.
-
To win the SO upvote game you need to find trivial questions that more people would search solution for, and answer as quickly as possible with a solution that someone can ideally just copy/paste.
-
I want this
-
@Biggy My first thought, before seeing your tags, was 'mining' :D
-
@xalez Despite that most of the ads look just plain fucking stupid, people making that stuff are wizards that know what they're doing. And people paying for the ads usually don't waste money on something that doesn't work. Also, Google and Facebook are successful because ads do work. The reason that they don't work in your (our) case is because you're not their target audience.
-
I recently realized that I hate ads more than anything in this world. Maybe not ads per se, but the way they're doing them - a lot of talking and no actual info.
-
Nice photo
-
@practiseSafeHex It's not the question of locking something away it's about choice. I personally would gladly provide you with my medical stats or whatever else you want because I think you're a cool guy or because you're doing something nice, but when you force that on me then I have a problem with that.
-
Of course that having enough data can make research easier, but we must respect someone's freedom not to allow collecting or processing of their data. If someone wants to provide the data, that's awesome, but no one should be entitled to that data just because that is for the "greater good".
P.S. I'm kinda scared when I see "social media" and "healtcare" in the same sentence :D -
Last year we had some guy hook up a 3+kW welder to the UPS because it was closer to him :)
-
@Jop- All I wanted to say was that if there was support for multitasking the application wouldn't be suspended or closed after opening something else. I'm sure there is the way to save everything, I just don't like the whole suspending applications stuff in general
-
That's why I like having multitasking support. Unfortunately in the last 10 years Apple and Google were working hard to fuck me (us) in the ass, so now you have a phone that has more processing power than a computer but no multitasking.
-
What OS are you using? Does it support multitasking?
