Heatmaps have been a common practice for years. And also live user tracking/watching. It's scary, but also useful for creating a better user experience.

Yeah these practices are a normal part of corporate market research.
The question is if they keylog your logindata too.

If anyone would ever send any constructive feedback to ux designers and devs that wouldn't be required. Focus groups cost 100 times more than employing heat maps and keystroke recorders.

When I first read the article, I was thinking "It's just Telemetry", but then it hit me the true concerns that imply logging all the user interaction.

It's scary, they should like make the telemetry tools "jam" sensible fields, like randomize the original data, but I think that's not happening soon.

Google does that too on various sites and use the info for human identification, called recaptcha v2. You don't believe they analyze the data locally, do you?

It's quite horrifying imo. Although I already knew it, it's still creepy that when you think you're browsing in peace, you can be recorded literally every move.

@runfrodorun I route everything through Tor now, at least on my phone. I'm not sure how to do it in Windows (or if it even matters because Windows).

I'll get everything sorted once I move over to Mint/Debian.
