I have absolutely no respect for developers who can't properly touch-type.

You don't see many cooks who don't know how to handle a knife, do you?

    What's touch typing?

@Froot I would say typing without looking at your keyboard.

Source: "Touch typing is typing without using the sense of sight to find the keys. Specifically, a touch typist will know their location on the keyboard through muscle memory."

@Jilano I would pass that. But I thought it means typing on a Smartphone, I would fail that.

What you described I would use the term blind typing.

I'm kinda half touch typing. I'd love to be able to touch type. Wouldn't require a backlit keyboard then

@Jilano ah I looked it up and it's the exact source you just gave.

You don't need to touch type as a dev because you are writing from your mind. You just need it to digitalize printed Texts, so you can keep your eyes on the paper.

I tend to use my brain to code, typing is the result of a lot of hard work.

I guess I would call it a non functional requirement

@plusgut Typing your thoughts is much easier that copying text from a paper.

@qbalsdon I would be surprised if someone couldn't touch type after typing all day every day. I guess that's how I actually feel about it.
