    Because your typical Apple user couldn't care less for PWA and offline notifications they bug you with.

    🤷‍♂️

    Finally this PWA bullshit is being killed! Thanks, Apple!

    Classic apple fanboys replies...if it was another company, even if they wouldn't care or wouldn't like...there would be millions of articles, posts and comments how that company is evil, anticompetitive not open and bla bla bla...thanks for confirming that once again

    @dontbeevil nope. Apple kills shit that annoys users. MS kills shit that users loved.
    You should be mad at MS but instead you project your butthurting to Apple. That’s a true fanboy!

    I've been telling everyone that I hate Apple, because its overpriced and since Steve isn't here, the bugs in OS keeps growing.

    And I currently own an iPhone and MacBook Pro from work.

    @Lensflare didn't know you were OBLIGED to install PWAs.

    P.s

    you mean like I alwsy complain how MS moved from native to web tech for first party apps and OS controls?

    @d00td00t shhh don't tell it to apple fanboys, they can get hurt your toucheing their beloved company

    @dontbeevil

    > didn't know you were OBLIGED to install PWAs.

    I’m not a user of PWAs. I hate them from a developer perspective. You know what I loved from a developer perspective? XNA. But MS killed it.

    > you mean like I alwsy complain how MS moved from native to web tech for first party apps and OS controls?

    So you don’t complain about stuff from MS that annoys you for the sole reason that it’s MS. You couldn't have made a better job at showing how much of a fanboy you are.

    Or do you actually mean that non ironically? In that case: I did see you complaining about it once. It’s hardly "always".

    Besides, if this is your idea of a proof that you are not a fanboy, then all of the people who you call Apple fanboys are not fanboys because they all rant about Apple occasionally when theres is something that is actually bad and not artificially framed to look like it’s bad.

    @dontbeevil

    Stop this comparisons already, it’s pathetic.
    Every company gets its ass spanked when they fuck up. No need to whine about the cases where they don’t get spanked because nobody cares.

    > didn't know you were OBLIGED to install PWAs.

    this was sarcasm, even if I don't like the tech, still a user should be able to install this app in this STANDARD way if they want... othereise how is called? anticompetitive, closed, evil...

    > you mean like I always complain how MS moved from native to web tech for first party apps and OS controls?

    this is not sarcasm, and you don't know me, I do it every time there is a chance to do it... but hey you defend apple because they killed something that you don't like.

    keep going I love how you keep proving yourself wrong

    @dontbeevil except it's not an app, its a kiosk mode browser with a desktop shortcut. A bit useless when there's this widely innovative thing, you might know it as bookmarks / favourites that do the same thing 🤷‍♂️

    > awaits "apple fanboy" remarks.

    @C0D4 once again, we all can agree that native apps are superior, and we can do ALMOST the same with a browser... but no PWA is much more, like for example push notifications, background work and offline support... these are good in some cases when for some reasons your app cannot be published to a store for absurd rules (eg: cloud gaming apps on apple store)

    @dontbeevil

    > but hey you defend apple because they killed something that you don't like.

    Wrong.
    First of all, I’m not defending Apple, I’m just thankful.
    Second, I (and @C0D4) just gave you an answer for your question why nobody rants about it.

    Try again.

    Fuck, just started a PWA. Got demotivated due notification stuff aniwaii
  • 4
    Eww! You made me visit twitter. Disgusting.

    Apple just released their Darwin Award head gear. They have more issues coming up with that.

    @dontbeevil in all the years of PWA, I'm yet to see the point of them.

    I don't even have apps on my screen anymore, the App Library took that chaos away for me, so why would I willingly add a shortcut to the screen?
  • 0
    @C0D4 and this is your opinion... I'm quite sure if we ask a million people we'll have at least one different opinion
  • 1
    @dontbeevil ah, so 1:1,000,000 means we need to care for it? Let me go pull out IE8 and rake up some usage for you.
  • 0
    @C0D4 it was sarcasm, because you're the one here without stats
  • 1
    @dontbeevil and your statistics are where?

    Please do tell how many Apple users actively use PWA's globally and how they will be impacted...
  • 0
    @C0D4 according to my Twitter feed, and only my feed that has nothing to do with pwas...quite a lot. But hey you have the stats right

    @dontbeevil the claim obviously wasn‘t that literally no one uses pwa. It was that it’s not a significant amount.
    Personally I don‘t know what that amount is but I find the Magenta case hilarious 😂
    Why? Because they gambled when they fully committed on this new and experimental tech. They gambled and they lost. That‘s the thing with risk. You can lose.

    Also, what‘s the big deal? If it‘s essentially a web app, then host it on the web. If it‘s not a web app, then why the fuck do you make it PWA? To supposedly save development time? Well, another lesson learned: Hybrid and cross platform technologies don‘t save time. They cost time. Next time go native.

    @dontbeevil your going to hinge your bets on a single telco? In Germany? That used PWA to spam you about events..... yea, ok, PWA can happily die then.

    I said global impact!

    @C0D4 oh I'm sure we'll be more, but I'll let you believe you're right, I'm not here to keep you updated with the progress of the story...bye
