Sometimes I wonder why Skype developers think it is okay to download files to a specific directory without an option to select a location at the point of download. Or is this yet another premium feature?

I reckon 1% of users understand the concept of folders, and of the 99% who do not understand folders, 50% think they understand folders.

Therefore if a user wants to save a file in a specific location, there is roughly a 2% chance that they know what they're doing, and a 98% chance that they are just going to confuse themselves, will not be able to find the file again later, and will blame the app for losing their file.

This is why we can't have nice things.

@donkulator Really doesn’t make much sense to me. It’s more like having my desktop browser defaulted to downloads folder because it thinks I’m a grandpa and it gives me no option to set to always ask.

There are some client files one would want on a separate directory and not being stored like dump logs.

I thought we all wondered what they think about Teams and Zoom

If you’re that hot’n’bothered about it, just symlink that bitch to somewhere else.

@donkulator This. I have a superior who always got confused when an app asks her where to save file every time. So saving to Downloads folder by default is good thing, for all of us. :-)
