They should call it Visual Studio 2017 Quantum.

They promised tons of times before to have improved performance, I stopped getting excited for it, updating right now, hopefully this time it's not just bullshit.

@JoshBent I stopped having performance issues with the XAML code and visual editor, and code editor in general.
Also the startup time seems shorter, but it could be just an illusion, not really sure about that.

Inside Microsoft:

@JS96 Disappointing, the first step it does before opening a project indeed is slightly faster, but the actual preparing solution, that always takes long, has the same time as before, even loading the designer is as slow, not only that, it also broke the solution, so now I have to rollback a backup, because even things like "button" are throwing a BC30002.

@JoshBent that’s bad. Not happened for me.
