pandasama950207d@neriald I honestly don't wanna dev forever and wanna get on that management ladder
-
jiraTicket2303207dIf you don’t leave - at least start job scouting. There are many companies who really care about Work Life Balance.
(To the point where some want to work more - but are encouraged to go chill out) -
pandasama950207d@jiraTicket my fear is being an engineer in a new company and resetting back to 0 to becoming a manager
-
jeeper5968206d@pandasama why do you think that would happen? Management is a different skill set entirely.
You learn management skills on top of engineering skills.
Your engineering skills allow you to have intelligent conversations with the engineers. You do need them.
Your management skills decide what those conversations will be about.
These are totally different, and there’s a good chance you demonstrate the management requirements now. Don’t be afraid to apply. -
Grumpycat588206dFuck being in management. I would rather extract my own teeth with no anesthesia.
