My worst dev sin is not throwing people under the bus, even when they deserve it.

Literally or metaphorically? I'll leave that up to the imagination.

------

I believe my second-worst sin is my tendency towards perfectionism. It's hard to finish projects quickly if everything has to be nearly perfect. I still make deadlines, but this is due to overworking, thus leading to burnout.

I could relax more if only I sacrificed my principles...

    I can agree to both.

    @ewpratten me too...
    I don't think perfectionism itself is a sin, but as @Root said, it is better to keep it at an appropriate level.

    I thinl a lot of us suffer from both these things

    @Root I can relate ways too much on this one:

    1. An incompetent fool offended me in front of the whole team and I had all the arguments to push back... but well I did not.

    2. My mentor (I am still in apprenticeship) just told me this week to do less work and to do it less perfect. He told me that I should take more time to study (my grades are high enough imo) and to focus on my apprenticeship... ...because I should not get the feeling to be stressed in his opinion.

    @Root the second is very relatable. To make it worse sometimes people don't appreciate or don't even know how 'perfect' your code is :(
