For context, I'm a web dev student. One of my modules is UX.

These are my exam questions.

Now, please tell me HOW THE FLYING FUCK this is relevant to WEB DEVELOPMENT?

Seriously, I get studying UI, but uncanny valley; really??

Fuckin' hate being a student. Give me a job.

    the prof probably was out drinking and when he came home he remembered that he has a test tomorrow. So he wrote that test in 15minutes at his kitchen table at 3am. 😄

    Uncanny Valley is brought up from time to time in video game graphics and rendering, there it makes sense. But in UX/UI it seems really odd, I guess in that sense they are referring to things like drop shadow consistency etc?

    @hexc nooope. It's really psychology based and like emotions and stuff, I honestly don't know a thing about UX

    @1nfinite it might be psychology based but in graphics it's usually referred to when you are looking at a a human being rendered, the entry to the valley is the point where characters look reasonable good but not realistic as you approach realism they become strange and not quite right looking, until they finally go back to looking good but also realistic.

    @DLMousey I completely agree with you, however, the problem is that the content I've been 'learning' has absolutely zero user interface stuff in it.

    I studied User Interface design and know how to conduct usability evals. Etc but this shit is completely and utterly irrelevant to my field, hence the rant

    :)

    @DLMousey I don't think you do get what I'm saying mate 😂

    And yeah, completely wrong road. I think I'll do a proper UX course on something like Udemy. Know any good links? :)
