I think Microsoft is the only big company that actually cares more about developers than users.

I am a linux guy and a MS hater but keep using more and more of their products - VS code is awesome! Typecript as well.

Very very much doubt that πŸ˜€

You think VS Code is enough to compensate what IE did to us?

Tbh Microsoft is by far the most company that cares about devs but of course if you use their services only, combination won't be much of a help.
Google now is pushing it and Apple is the worst on so many levels.

Jetbrains have cool IDEs but Visual Studio Enterprise has so many useful things that can be done with a click of a button like load tests, integration with azure ...etc

As for their products for end user Office is the only thing that I don't see anyone can compete with

I still use windows cuz where I live they mostly rely on MS products
But I do everything on Ubuntu like developing react, Android, and dot net core.

I've used lots of alternatives for SQL server management studio, visual studio, office, and non where as good as MS solutions. Jetbrains data grip is great but for SQL server MS management studio is better optimized.

    Just my two cents :)

@CurseMeSlowly IE was/is a shitty software. And what it did to you - it gave you more work, which on paper is not a bad thing. Of course it was awful. And I said that I am using more and more of their software, not that I endorse all of it.

@mrvica skype is bad but weirdly, group me is really good.

    Of course it does.
Final users don't switch to linux, they instead bring the laptop to the assistance for any stupid error message.
