NGPixel7007yUnfortunately this happens at least once to everyone. So many dishonest clients. Then you either start requesting half payment to avoid these issues or quit freelancing altogether. The latter in my case.
Oh that and completely retarded requests from clients. Got really tired of these. -
PacRat39907yget at least half pay up front if you ever do freelance. if they want to pull the "oh you don't trust nice clients" bs just tell them all the bad ones ruined it for everyone

cursee171597yShould have taken the first one for free but get like 5% of every transaction. Also put a backdoor and save all the customer data secretly. So later you can blackmail them or report to police.

This is why I use Fiverr, if neither of us are satisfied with the results, no one gets paid. Also, the requestor pays first and if you don't pull through, they get their money back within a week, 2 weeks tops, after disputing your claim of course 😁

bondman2447y@NGPixel i like retarded requests :) from clients because like i mentioned in one of my other posts, i have been fortunate enough to get all paying clients

@sbin
Okay, that is GENIUS. Once I return to freelancing, I'll definitely do that! Thanks for sharing. :) -
@johngreen
Wow what a jerk. I hope you're not allowing anyone to do that to you anymore.
Thanks. Once I return to freelancing, I'll collect the money upfront from now on. -
@johngreen
Lol I just saw your profile... Looked a bit familiar like someone else's profile I know ;) -
@johngreen
They were a bit surprised and not really that happy, but they aren't angry at all. :) -
-vim-31687yIf you can, don’t send source code and put annoying watermark, you can also add a kill switch (remote or by inner mechanism)
-
Baguette4267yEasy,
1- You always request an upfront payment.
2- If a project or client doesn't interest you, just pass it.
I never had to work for free, i always request between 10 to 50% as an upfront payment ( depends on the discussed price )
Good luck

This one guy wanted a website to sell illegal drugs or something. Oh and he only offered $20 for it. Obviously I didn't take it.
There was another guy who wanted a calculator in Python. I'm not sure why, but I think he was a student who wanted someone to do his homework. He offered $250 so I took it. Once it was done, he didn't pay and blocked me.
I quit freelancing about two months ago or something since I was sick of it. Most clients are disrespectful.
