NoMad

I can't focus during the day, I don't have enough energy to do chores in the evening, I can't sleep during the night, and I can't wake up on time in the morning.

It seems like a curse that keeps getting worse.

It sounds like you just need a holiday. Don’t even need to go somewhere else. Just holiday and relax at home. Play a game. Play a musical instrument.

@dimsumexception I had multiple of those since this downfall started. None has really helped.

    @NoMad yes! Here’s how I did it:

    1. Light a plastic bottle on fire. Inhale full lungs of black smoke.
    2. When you want to smoke or vape, vividly remember the experience while trying to vomit
    3. Repeat that psychological reinforcement for two weeks. The habit will set in
    4. Done. Now your brain is rewired to hate smoking

@kiki so is cancer optional then?
  • 2
@kiki to be fair though, acute carcinogens is probably better than chronic carcinogens.

@Demolishun I argue that one whiff of black plastic goodness is less harmful than a lifetime of vape, let alone cigarettes

Canada banned all nicotine aside from cigarettes. kicker is nicotine is a nootropic and it's the other shit in cigarettes that fuck you up

was on the list of potential things to try vs my sickness issues. nicotine users seemed to be protected vs COVID, theory was it blocks receptors COVID needs

@jestdotty so back when the government was going after big nicotine. They found that the dryers for drying the leaves for cigarettes burned fuel. The exhaust from burning the fuel was used to directly dry the leaves. This put all the carcinogens you get from burning the fuel into the leaves. So it may be that tobacco wasn't so bad on its own. I have no idea if they ever fixed this issue.

@Demolishun that’s fucking wild. Where can I read more about that?

@kiki I saw it on PBS years ago. Some special report on the tobacco industry and their liability in the cases. Turns out they were doing all sorts of shady shit. They added chemicals to the tobacco to remove the electric charge (free basing), put holes in paper on sides to fool the smoking machines that test for tar, and were working on selective breeding to maximize the nicotine content.

I was just searching online, but I can't find the one I remember seeing. Maybe searching around on PBS website can find it.

Quit stimulants because all they do is deplete your body resources and you get stuck in a loop of self destruction.
