    Homeserver? :'(

I just have a pi as a homeserver and I mainly use it for my ownCloud

Routing, network authentication, squid caching, quality of service (qos)..
Basically what a good router offers + caching.

I've considered implementing some ids, perhaps Snort but haven't really been able to find a need for it.. :)

    I have 3.
One Proliant Microserver (I can really recommend this one) with 4 RAID 10 disk. Using it for Owncloud, webbserver for dynmap and other minecraft stats, mySQL databases, samba sharing and Unifi server for both Video and Accesspoints.

One Supermicro custombuild server with alot of RAM and quite beefy CPU. Using it for Minecraft with alot of plugins.

Another HP server that I just use for programming.

    2 nics
will be used for git and website, maybe minecraft, and probably will replace second server

    2: 1x 2,33ghz 4 core CPU
    8gb ram
    500gb + 3tb hdd
    Used as Teamspeak 3
    Pritunl VPN

How much does the HP cost?

More like an experiment and educational tool..

Well, I'd say that depends what it's compares against.
Compared to our isp provided Cisco device, yes and can withstand far more pressure, not that it really matters for home usage.. :)

I have a Pi that runs a Django app which is sort of an episode tracker where I can mark which episodes of what shows I watched and the air dates of next episodes.. It also updates my ddns account with the current IP every hour.

Mmh well. Be careful, if non-legal methods are in use for those automated downloading tasks.. :)

    @lotd
Non-legal methods? Is there any illegal methods?

Well the methods, use net, Torrents, perhaps Gnutella transfers themselves are not illegal but can and is often used for copyrighted material..

I'm not implying anything or accusing anybody, simply just want people to be careful if they're doing so :)
