    Fucking Windows.

    Before everyone starts saying that I should switch to Linux, I prefer Windows as my primary OS and Linux as a secondary OS.

    Anyways, I updated my Windows a few days ago and ever since, instead of fucking shutting down it acts like it goes into hibernation. If I tell you to shut down, that means to shut down, not save everything and reopen everything when I turn you back on.

    Besides that, why the fuck is it trying to install some Canon printer driver, that I don't even have! Thus leading it to fail every god time I turn off my PC, and then it says "Updates failed to install."

    Seriously, had no problem with Windows until a few days ago. Simple terms, fuck Microsoft right now.

    I find Windows is often like that. :-)

    Are you using a physical button to turn it off ?

    @jschmold

    I find the windows hibernation thing not so reliable. (Not tried the hybrid one!)

    Taken me decades to get it to work !

    Now I find, its not too bad as long as I do a real reboot every now and then, because if I don't, it just hangs..

    And it doesn't seem to work well if you have lots of applications running/open when you hibernate, it doesn't always recover well !

    I'm reminded of the time when one W10 machine here changed from the big button turning it off, to putting it to sleep instead.

    And then of course, it played up being woken..

    Perhaps its waking from a previous sleep state from long ago when there was such a printer connected ?

    I wonder if they have had the machine (Or even the HD..) since new ?

    Try turning off "fast startup" in power settings. https://howtogeek.com/243901/...

    @jschmold I just hit the power button in the start menu.

    @Nanos Yep

    @DrPitLazarus Already did, but thanks tho.

    Thanks for the help, but I already turned it off now. First few days I just thought I was being stupid and putting it into hibernation but then I did some digging around and realized it was a Windows update and they fucked with my settings. Just had to get the anger out, but already disabled that now, thanks for the help though everyone.

    See, I don't mind it on Mac, I on purpose want my Macs to open the previous stuff I had, but on my PC I want everything to be closed so I basically don't have any garbage open.
