I mean the reason they don't let you cheat is precisely so that you /are/ prepared for the job because you have to actually understand how it works

retoor17504dIt's so freaking interesting what the future will bring us regarding AI. I did generate an app just for try and wow wow wow. It's awesome. I mean, the base is the same you would do it. But since it adds error handling I could consider it even better than my code. But later, I added Auth, didn't apply on all views. The views were functions instead of classes but everything got nicely refactored by request and then I asked it to use my preferred db adapter (python dataset till I die!! Rewrote it completely in C# and JS!!) is that's not that popular but also did well, but then ofc, it still saved passwords plain text without salt. And a bunch, bunch of shit you actually need some knowledge for. If I said nothing and accepted all, I would kinda have a working app still. It just doesn't glue the components right together. I kinda hope it stays this way. Good for experts, sucks to hard for idiots. Kinda what AI is in general atm. I think, before end of year, we're all generating.

retoor17504dJust as with the autocomplete, if you still don't use the AI autocomplete :p I'm in the top 1% of the world according to codeium stats. Do you know what that means? I smash on tab like almost no one does! It learns your coding and decisions and I program so much, that thing became me. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets a mania soon and disappears for a few months.

wiki sucks. this doesn't mention it but the whole education system is literally built to make compliant slaves. there's books from the people who implemented it stating it -
@jestdotty Huh.
I've heard something similar.
General favoritism in school towards 'yes-men', while discouraging free thinkers etc. was / is supposed to result in obedient factory workers.
Or something like that. -
It's a certificate of the willingness to spend your money and time on the certificate. People already graduate all the time without learning a thing by mooching off their friends or cheating, so AI wouldn't change a thing. Hell, they should also use AI to grade the assignments, that way professors could be free from their last annoying obligation, and dedicate themselves to research.
Education isn't meant to prepare you for a job, if it was they'd let you use AI.
