@lucaIO It's a web app to reduce travel anxiety for packing by suggesting you what clothes to pack based on the weather at the destination.
-
@Cyanide It's not hosted yet and it's not perfect.
Here's the github link: https://github.com/Ullas-Aithal/... -
I also want to join a hackathon, but I've never been at one.
How was your first time (I chose these words on purpose haha)?
Any suggestions to me? -
@gitpull Sorry for the long comment.
This is what happened to me. When I went to my first hackathon, I really didn't know what to do and I didn't have enough technical knowledge to work on a project. But when I watched students from various universities building stuff day and night without sleeping, it motivated me. I learned and built my first android app in my first hackathon. But during the time of the demo, I was depressed when I compared my app to all the other projects. It was nothing. The app was incomplete and filled with bugs. But, the amount of feedback and compliments that I received while I was showing my project made me feel proud and happy of my work. Most of my technical skills have been boosted because of hackathons.
My advice, if you get a chance, don't miss it. Don't be demotivated if you couldn't build something. There's always a next one :) -
@DarthRanter daammn...
Thanks for the detailed comment.
No need to be sorry about that. It motivated me even more instead haha.
Will note these information down.
Is a ctf the same as a hackathon btw? -
@gitpull oh. I don't know what ctf is. Sorry.
The hackathons that I'm talking about, runs for a weekend at different universities -
enoon4237yWell done, mate!
I see that it’s a web app (or that at least it’s written in Angular). What resources did you use to learn Angular? I want to learn it but there are just so many JS frameworks (node, react, jquery), it can be difficult to choose which to begin with?
Also, there are different versions of Angular, right? -
@enoon Somehow I missed your comment. Yes it's angular 1.6, which is very very old as of today. I believe angular 6.1 got released recently. I did have a little work experience in angular.
I just created a small app in vue.js yesterday. Their documentation is really good (is what I felt). Maybe you can start with that ?
