I dont think it is so bad. But I dont understand why? It is something you actually have to mean. You cant just become a spaces guy by mistake

I actually don't know which one I use. My IDE handles all that stuff for me...

Whoever uses spaces should actually type them out so we know they mean business.

Got my text editor converting tabs to spaces like a boss. I just use the tab key, my editor handles the rest.

Can someone mark this as an accepted solution?

@wokeRoach there isn't. Good IDE will warn you about mixture and will suggest to fix it automatically.

@RantSomeWhere no? Tab is a single character, not 4 space characters or 7 space characters. It just can be changed how it's displayed.

@irene that was a joke, I do use tabs. Not much time to waste checking if every line is well indented 😂

@irene well, that the solution I use for vim, this way I have no problem sharing my files with other people. Otherwise there's the appropriate Jetbrains ide that takes in account for it.

@irene and I cannot agree more with those companies. If you use MS Notepad then sure, use tabs, and kill yourself on your way. But any half decent text editor will have the option to write X spaces when tab is pressed, and it just removes all of those headaches when reindenting code, or just showing it anywhere else.

I sometimes switch between both. Using spaces is a force of habit I’m trying to break from.

@irene Mainly when I’m going through directory’s I know are present. I should try to tab more for those 😂

Say that when you need to write stuff in yaml, and you will regret the fuck out of yourself.

Try to use spaces in a Makefile and see what happens 😁
