I don't get it, is it really that hard to get a job as a dev in some countries?
-
@1989 can I ask where you are from?
Because in Sweden you could get a job in a week if you are a decent dev. It's strange to me that it's different in other countries.
Would you say it's because there is too little jobs, or there are too many developers, in your country? -
2gnvr91247yI’m kinda in the same position as you.
Important thing to keep in mind is that you will get to where you want to be. Right now do not bother yourself thinking about a fact that you cannot change right this second.
Whatever you do, do not overthink, it’ll lead to even more stress, anxiety and depression. And to be honest, none of those things ever did anyone any good.
Instead make sure you are working towards your goal gradually, don’t overdo it either. You’ll also get a lot of moments where you might be doing things unrelated to your goal and you’ll start asking yourself “why am I not being productive?” and that can become a vicious circle, leading to even less productivity.
Take some time to enjoy yourself, find a way to incorporate your goal with things you like. Keep going, keep your head up, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
Good luck! :) -
I completely switched disciplines so you can say that I started from zero also. (was in electronics, I'm doing web)
The best option I found was learn shit on my own, get an internship, internships, a paying internship, a job.
It worked. -
U learn shit by doing shit.
Not through tutorials.
But don't forget to do things the hard way, in parallel. Meaning you must learn the fundamentals. -
365 days is a lot of time, write a study plan. Divide a conquer learn many things if you can.
Enjoy the journey -
@1989 learn the basics over at codecademy. After that you may proceed with trying to build basic apps. The most basic concepts I worked on were login systems.
You may also find quality tutorials at tutsplus.
