Are you allowed to wear shorts and flip flops to work? or is it suit and tie?

Depeneds where you're working. I showed up in a suit to my first day of an internship, only to find my co-workers wearing basketball shorts and tank tops.

Jeans and a t-shirt most days. Will wear a Polo when meetings are scheduled, but that's just personal preference.

@FelisPhasma you did the right thing for the first day at work. Think if you where coming in shorts and a t-shirt for the first day and everyone else where using black suit and tie.
I think that a well dressed man is very good in many situations.

I work at a place where clothes is very free, but I always use suit-pants and often a light-blue shirt. Sometimes I use a jacket in a different color (black or grey) over the shirt ☺️

Casual everyday

i wear nice dressey looking shorts crocs and a tshirt whwn i go to the office but i work from home it is a tshirt and basketball shorts or pj bottoms depending on temperature

wouldn't work there if they forced dress code on me :D

I don't know of any dev shops that make their employees wear a suit anymore

First day I decided to wear a nice shirt and nice pants, so if my coworkers had suit on, it wouldn't be too underdressed, though still don't be too overdressed when I found out the CEO were wearing t-shirt and shorts. I still though wear a shirt, but that's just a personal preference

I wear jeans and a plain shirt or hoddie. When clients are around i usually wear a polo shirt.
So nothing too fancy

Business casual - jeans, polo, shoes - but many people including me wear sneakers outside of management meetings.
When I started working - I commuted by horse and buggy - it was suit and tie every day. We have come a long way thank heaven.

Work from home. Birthday suit if I wanted to. 😳
