Windows is starting to get really annoying. Of course, I've disabled all sorts of unnecessary messages in Windows and enabled "fokusstöd" (whatever that translates into in English), and yet I receive this annoying ad, distracting me from my work! Who gives a fuck about Xbox or whatever they are trying to sell!?

Oh, popup ads is really next level. The arrogance. Worst thing is - if you actually would buy the xbox, you'll probably get even more message about instead of them disappearing.

Of course you're getting ads because when it's free, you are the product. Oh wait, it's not free at all! You bought an OS for 120,- that spams you. That's the worst part. If linux did it, it would be very sad, but at least it's because it's free probably. That's not the case with windows.

They receive money AND bully you? Who are they? The freaking government?

There really needs to be a law that your operating system is not allowed to do things like this. This is a tool, not a media product we're brainlessly consuming for entertainment. It should apply to phones, cars, hammers, everything.

Just got Windows 11 Pro. Started working on it on Sunday. Still finding and turning off bullshit.

@BordedDev Fortunately, my car stereo touch screen stopped working about year 3 so I can't pair it even if I wanted to.

It would cost over $1200 to replace, not that I want to. They regularly play blasting harsh white noise as a way to coerce you into paying for satellite radio, so I stopped using it altogether.

The future is stupid.

@cuddlyogre yeah, finding out that LG dishwashers are absolutes shit. Never again. Parts are egregiously expensive. Trying to sell a microswitch which would normally costs a couple of dollars if that for $26.

@BordedDev That cost is if I did it. If the dealer did it, it's well into the $2k range. There are steering wheel controls and a backup camera and probably a hundred other things I have to get adapters for. It's ridiculous. I just play music through my phone on long rides and that's more than sufficient.
