Always wanted to build a URL shortener. Guess what I'm building right now :D (next to working on a blog article)

    I'm also introducing a safe mode by the way. Convert thelink.com/hsi82bs to thelink.com/s/hsi82bs and you get the link it redirects to on screen :)

    @elcore I'm more of an nginx guy and I'll convert to that soon enough but the htaccess 😍

    @Jilano Well, I'm quite far so if everything goes well, I can launch the dev version (no graphical interface) tomorrow or the day after :)

    Isn't it just a mapping table stirred in a DB? 2 columns: short, original

    I guess for uniqueness could find some hashing Algo to generate the short from the URL... Or just the insert row number...
