A fellow intern recommended the use of windows server for security and speed reasons.

Few details about the situation: windows server got hacked due to a vulnerability which had no patch released yet and this had happened multiple times that year. Also, the company was migrating everything to Linux (servers).

The senior/lead programmer literally gave him a GTFO face and pointed at the door.

Everyone was giving him the GTFO face by the way, he didn't know how fast he had to get out 🤣

    The intern is a fucking idiot and company is a bigger idiot than the intern. How the hell can you just implement what an intern suggested without researching enough? If intern has to go then those senior fucktards also should go.

    @linuxxx yes I am sure they were capable because they migrated servers to Linux based systems but this situation shouldn't have come at the first place. These seniors should have done some research before using windows servers

    The only true security comes with an air gap... And even then it can be stolen.

    Windows servers are as secure as Linux or anything else. It depends on the dedication of the attacker and the defensive measures that has been implemented (or not) on the server.
