can barely understand anythig because the translators are just mumbling over the background english and are struggling to keep up with the dialogue...

This would never happen in germany. Even streamed on public media!
All that happens here when a company breaks the law (e.g. VW lied about the emissions of their engines) are a few news articles, a few talk shows with host and selected experts who have no inside knowledge and after 2 weeks its gone. You never see the managers of companies justifying themselves for their actions or see politicians digging into the issue and pursuing the truth and justice like this.
Really impressive and honorable US, make sure not to let that get lost like we did. -
CptFox16167y@simulate To be fair, that might happen if there was a link between the company's behaviours and a potential threat to the country's democratic system. Shameful though VW's behaviour was, I always thought it was normal and a well known issue, and it's not like there's a direct relation between VW's behaviour and intentions of skewing the election process of any country

Upto 85% of the so called "honourable" US politicians have been paid by Mark Zuckerberg. -
@Floydian
I didnt watch till the very end, but it seemed like it went pretty good for him. He said that they already have a tool where facebook users can see all the data that facebook has about them and that "they never sold data to anyone"... Although he often dodged the answer, the senators asked many good questions and he replied that they only use the data according to their terms of service and that the users are aware that their data is shared. It didnt become clear to me though how widely that data could be shared.
