The guy who did android dev before me in the company i work for, didn't get paid for 2 months, so he moved all the project files he worked on to an empty partition and locked the drive with Windows' BitLocker. He didn't give the password until he was fully paid. I kinda respect that guy.

    That’s standing up for yourself

Why would you want to work for them in that case?

@devRow the only reason I'm there is because there's another android dev there who knows a shit ton about android and programming in general and right now I've decided to look at it as a free professional one on one tutor, with even possible pay!

Doesn't it feel wrong and awkward that the projects are not pushed to git?
  • 10
@Inject It definitely does. But I'll personally wont be committing anything until I get paid in full. The last 3 guys before me did the same, thus there had been no commits in the last 6 months

    Absolute MadLad! Savage!

Dam, is it really that brutal out there?

@hidingFromBoss that's terrifying, commits are like Ctrl+s to me

So you guys don't use source control :|

Just like what @Null-Device said, look for a new job

Interesting!! What kind of a company that does not pay its employees? I wonder if it's a legal company in the first place?

@AlinaWithAFace @gitpush @inject we use source control, but only for the for the project we're developing from its beginning, not legacy ones. For committing them and doing our best i personally demand a certain level of mutual respect from the CEO, which went to shit when he yelled at me in front of everyone for going for a smoke twice a day, the first and only time he told me his stupid policy.

@hidingFromBoss dafuq? You are not a child for him tell yell at!! Wish you all the best man for a new job :)

@gitpush I agree. And i feel stupid for being quiet, but i was new there, and felt i needed the job!

@hidingFromBoss we all go through this man, but the mistake is staying in the same place. Keep your job until you find a new one, never leave without having a replacement

That's a good idea. No compensation, no output; no output, no compensation. Though some people I know barely do the latter and get compensated 🙄

I never liked the attitude of “I’ll hold my work hostage till they pay me”.. IMO it’s kind of childish, if your employer won’t pay you, sue them, report them and or quit. Don’t hang round and act like a kid not sharing till you get what you want... idk, just how I feel.
