retoor53821dFor me there's no reason to use a VPN. Wouldn't be surprised if the VPN services would fuck you over even harder by having actual logs while they're normally spread over the internet or so. So now you have your provider AND a company to fuck you over.
I literally have no suspicious internet traffic. It's very normal to ask gpt the best way to hide a body. Nobody cares. Btw, say hi to the body in your basement.
Don't I care about my data being monitored? Sure, but I don't think a tunnel managed by someone I don't know is a solution. I just accept being possibly monitored and no, I won't share my connection with the tor pedoes. I swear, that network only has one use these days. Even drugs are hard to find there. At this point - I suspect anyone that has that app. Just like USA does. -
retoor53821dWhy would that people enable YOU to watch yt videos? Wdym exactly? What does it has to do with you?

@retoor depends on the threat model. Torrent? By all means, VPN. Chances are, it is a civil law suit that comes after you and it just stops when the IP is in Asia. But honestly, that's the extend of usefulness I can see. Or in Russia where it is legal atm.
Not talking about side2side VPN or similar. Those are quite valuable. -
@retoor No your provider doesn't have useful logs anymore when using a VPN, but the VPN has.
And the majority of internet traffic is HTTPS anyways. Except for stuff like domain names which are transmitted in plain text -
devRancid66924hThe only reason to use it is for tunneling into your own network or bypassing IP/geo-blocking
Not for privacy/security like all these shills claim -
BordedDev83824h@retoor That's probably because Tor has been compromised (or at least a good chunk was)
@devRancid You can now also DNS over HTTPS -
cuddlyogre135523hNord is now 150 a year, all so I can train the captcha robots on what a streetlight is. I dumped it.

retoor538222h@antigermgerm oh damn, you could've better said "Thanks for all those fuckers paying so much for yt subscription so I can watch for free.". You're welcome. But you should think for yourself, isn't it worth to pay for? It's my default background thing on my chromecast 24/7 while coding so I consider the subscription even cheap.
Do you sometime think about the losers paying 10 euros a month on a VPN so I can watch stupid yuotube videos?
