I have both, but WP is like an extended version of old Nokia's OS. And I don't mean Symbian, because this thing doesn't even have home screen. It's basically OS with two menus: the first one is exact copy from Win8 metro, the second is a _list_ of all apps i.e. exact copy of old Nokia's menu.

If there even is something like console, it's so well hidden a common dev won't even try to find it because that OS will make him crazy in seconds.

But hey, I use it as ebook reader! :D

I feel so bad for WP users, they'll never know the glory of Tasker.

Same goes for ios users, but WP is even further into the dark.

@azuredivay Yeah, that's not something new, but it's nice to know they at least do something.
I have never liked outlook and ransomwares targeting outlook are convincing me I should stay away.
However I like an idea of Cortana(big Halo fan btw), but don't use it, nor "ok google" or other voice stuff. #soParanoid

@azuredivay The app gap is huge, though. Like really really big.

I'm not going to knock the WP for not being a good system, because the integration with Windows 10 is an obvious plus.

But you don't have Tasker. Or the userbase to make WP a viable platform moving into the future.

@KeyWeeUsr Cortana is actually really really powerful. I don't use her that often, but every time I have she's been very responsive and accurate.

@azuredivay Not task manager. Tasker is an event/reaction system that allows you to listen for custom events and run custom actions.

    Example:
    Receive SMS w/ content "hello"
    - Turn mediaVol to 10
    - Change wallpaper to path/to/jpg
    - Play fireAlarm.mp3
    - Open cat.gif
    - Take picture from front cam
    - Return SMS w/ content "hi"

@azuredivay No that sounds about right. The Tasker website is extremely poorly built. Which I've always found interesting considering the quality of the app.

IFTTT (If this then that) is extremely similar and cross platform, but Tasker is much more hands on.

@randombug I've always wanted a blackberry. That little qwerty-keyboard thing with the fancy "touch" button in the middle :(
