Yeah, NASA didn't use Java either. They used assembly.

I doubt... hm... if there was hardware or a special interpreter that did not use RAM written in ROM that would interpret Java bytecode directly, 2KB would be enought RAM

@filthyranter they actually didn't even use any recognizable assembly. they used a custom language that ran on custom circuits.
