    To be fair, my company does release source code to middle parties wishing to add to or modify our code. The end customer however, will only get a binary blob

    Giving compiled versions helps making reverse engineering harder but not impossible and finding vulnerabilities is harder but I think that would be a double edged sword. Is it a college exam?
