Last i checked, there was a button to restart & power off without installing updates.

Afaik it's also possible to reboot directly though the shutdown command
``` shutdown -r -t 0 ```

If you don't care about data corruption and properly unmounting your disk(s)..
Theres also the cats favourite, power cycle button.
