But especially under Nadella they have changed course and are today one if the larger contributors to Open Source.

@sSam I don't know too much about it, TBH. But I know someone who lost her job after Microsoft bought Nokia and decided to lay off a lot of people.

@CodeNoir well Nokia sold of that part for a reason. They failed to recognize the threat of smartphones.

And MS despite a very good phone OS(according to all friends that have used it) never got the app developers to embrace it and thats what killed it.

Right now MS has its own git solution VSTS so buying GitHub may provide some sort of large feature merging between those two. Would be useless in my opinion to hold 2 services doing the same.

@Miksier VSTS isn't that successful so either VSTS will be integrated into Github or something completly new is made, which is unlikely due to the worth of the Github brand.

Because when I hear Microsoft and acquiring another company, I always think of Skype. And God knows Skype has became bloated since Microsoft
