    @Alice Rude and uncalled for.

    @neilssi I don't know if you meant 'wk107', but you wrote in your tags 'wk17' (Which was funnily similar).

    @antorqs ohh right, thanks lol

    @Alice It's not that. I really don't care about the book. And I don't care that other people read it for whatever reason they do, as long as it doesn't affect me in a negative way.

    If this person likes to read it whenever he or she is in stress. Fine by me.

    @Alice Aaaaand we're on a deadlock here. Moving on ;-)

    @Alice @RantSomeWhere Thanks lolol

    If we are talking about motivation:

    [...] we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat."

    @matste rule acknowledged

    @neilssi Please stop doing that. It's going to end up fucking over your co-workers and fellow programmers. Like I mean, how's a guy supposed to compete with divine bugfixing 'nd stuff

    @Alice There's also that one time where god shows his major insecurity issues by killing some farmers family and animals, makes the guy poor and sick, get's him thrown out of the city he lives in, only to go "it's just a prank bro" and compensate him. Also that one time when god figured he had fucked up and had to kill everyone except some dude that could build a boat, the dudes family, and a bunch of animals that had been destined for sex whilest somehow not being able to stop homosexuality many years later. Also god's OC is too OP tbh

    How difficult is it to let someone live life the way they like? Without having to spew hateful opinions on them when totally uncalled for?

    @neilssi Welcome to DevRant. :)

    I'm scared to say this after all of the discussion in the comments, but I was joking - no I don't read bible verses to feel empowered. I tried using the humorous part of my brain and failed lol. Sorry ^^; (why is this so entertaining though) @exceptionalGuy @wokeRoach @inaba

    @neilssi Well, that was a good one! I can only imagine you laughing hard and then watching the snowball growing a bit too big hahaha
  • 2
    @neilssi Phew, for a moment there I thought you were cheating :v

    @Alice Crap, I honestly thought it wasn't a joke. I was sick of people enforcing their own views on others on other platforms and when I saw the "same" here, of all the places, I legit felt bad. My bad my bad.
  • 4
    @wokeRoach Haha I get that. But somehow the stuff you're passionate about is not the same as beliefs for most people, don't you think? It's a lot more personal, I feel. And sometimes making fun of someone's beliefs might offend them or worse hurt them. If this was a constructive debate/discussion on religion, I would have totally taken your side but when ridiculing it serves no purpose, I feel it's better to refrain from it simply so that people can live peacefully. :D
    Obviously, in this context, since it was meant to be a joke, it's only fair and I'm stupid to have not seen that so ignore me. :p

    @exceptionalGuy I'm with you on this. I happened exactly the same to me. I didn't get it as a joke :'-) My bad too.

    I'm NOT a religious person, I don't believe in "god", and I know you were only joking

    ...BUT...

    I find a lot of wisdom behind some of the interpretations of the bible. Only if you dare look past the literal text and apply the symbolism as human nature.

    It's the kind of wisdom that withstands the test of time. It's the kind of wisdom that you get from learning about the nature of human beings who lived the past thousand years.

    Surely much more wisdom than so many pretentious cultural trends and "social media". I'd even dare to say there is exponentially more wisdom in the Bible than in devRant and I haven't read them both till the end (excluding @Alice comments and rants which can be viciously sarcastic and witty at times )

    @1989 its inferred from the tag "motivation"

    *upvotes a rant from months ago*
    Oh dear, how am I supposed to explain that
    *sees that there were some helpful necrobumps*
    *phew, saved!*

    That said, I'm not religious and realize that the Bible has some pretty barbaric content in it (hence why I'm more inclined to upvote @Alice's comments) but do acknowledge that how you choose to live your life is up to you, and that Christianity just like any other belief can be greatly beneficial for spiritual purposes (so long as you do not blindly follow *exactly* what it says, and remain critical). I am empowered by the community that makes up devRant, you are empowered by the Bible. While the means are different, the purpose is the same. Don't let the views of others let you down!
