qdsp1317687y@fuck2code But aren't most github repos public anyway? Or are you just referring to the private ones?
-
Brolls31157y@fuck2code honestly, what’s with the Prism hysteria?
Anything public on GH is precisely that... public.
And if the NSA really have their creepy little feelers in everything already anyway, I really don’t see what impact this is gonna have.
I get there might be some sensitive credentials and stuff hidden in some private repos, but how much of that is truly huge, mass-user stuff that the NSA already doesn’t have access to, I’m not sure.
Most of what I’m seeing is reading as a bunch of “REEEEEEEEEE” posts where they’re confused and angry about change, and poking holes in it because “Muh Big Business and Micro$oft”.
It’s all so reactionary and entirely unfounded until we see how it plays out. -
Brolls31157y@fuck2code yeah, a email address and name. Hardly the leak of the century. If they’re in the systems they already have that anyway.
-
Brolls31157y@fuck2code idk. That kinda implies companies like GH aren’t doing that already.
And I mean, if you’re really into privacy and encryption and properly using encryption and services that use it correctly, you’re probably fine anyway.
That’s not to say it’s not going on / won’t go on because it probably will.
I just think people are blowing it entirely out of proportion. -
Brolls31157y@jespersh that’s entirely my hope too. VSTS wasn’t doing so well on its own, so I’m hoping for one click CI and CD via Azure or something.
Even sweeter if they make it free for OSS projects. -
@SSDD he lined them up,let them bend over and then in, out, step aside, in, out, step aside rpeat
While we're talking about Microsoft and GitHub.
This is what people dealing with billions of dollars on daily basis look like. The awkward looking guy just fucked millions of developers all over the world so he's a byte uncomfortable about all this.
