It astounds me that people will actually pay thousands of dollars to come to a bootcamp and just fuck around...

Like we will spend an hour going over materials and concept and when it comes time to apply it and build something the kid next to me never knows what's going on! And then always asks me how to do it.

I tried being positive about it and be like hey if I can explain it to him...then that means I really know it!

Fast forward a couple weeks and I'm ready to strangle the kid.

He will sit on his phone playing games the whole time the lesson is going. Then when the lesson is over, put his phone down and immediately ask me how to do it...

The fuck!? Maybe if you'd just listen you'd know wtf you're doing by now you useless vapid brainless twatwaffle!

He's hired to test your mental strength. That's the true reason for the bootcamp. =)

Well, you don't have to help him. Just say that you don't know either, or that you don't want to help him if he doesn't pay attention. You are in no way obliged to explain anything to him.
You could also tell him how to google. Then you both profit: you won't have him nagging and he will have his explanation 😉

@TempestasLudi the specific bootcamp I'm at actually hires some students as devs/teacher aides, so I'm actually gunning for that a little bit. Which is the only reason I help him at all. But I have started as off yesterday, telling him to try going back over the lesson or Google it and if he's still stuck after that to ask me.
