    Wrong on so many levels.

If you look at how the os have changed over the years windows have made more changes than linux and if you look on success it has nothing to do with os.

Windows is probably the most successful os ever created.

It has bern the number one os for 25+ years and excluding phones still is.

With android phone linux has gotten an upswing but I do not believe that is due to it being linux, rather its due to android and then google selecting it, but they could have chosen many different.

Its tiring to alway see such windows bashing, at least use real facts when you do.

    @Voxera
The only good thing about windows, imo, is being able to use applications that don't support Linux. That's pretty much it. :/

    Another trying-to-get-cheap-upvotes rant.
And by looking on your profile all I can see is just reposts, you doesnt seen very smart

Why so much hate on windows

@Voxera "they could have chosen many different" can you elaborate?

@Michelle not by a wide margin really. There are many great things to say about all the major operating systems out there.

@beleg well, most of what makes android what it is is not linux.

In the bottom you have the actual phone part which runs on a real time os that handles the radio and other things requiring approval by phone networks.

Beside that you have the app os where android today is largest.

But when it started they could just as easy gone with some other compact os, and added java on-top and it would have worked.

The apps are built in java and really does not care about the actual os except for the api’s.

Also, its a heavily modified linux kernel but with out a lot of other things you take for granted in a standard linux.

    https://google.se/amp/s/...

And according to some articles I have read they did not start using the linux kernel to begin with, it came later.

When they started linux was not used on any phone and I remember a lot of talk about it not going to work because it was to heavy.

And there existed a dozen or more different mobile oses already.

What really made android was the fact that by opening it to many manufacturers they manage to build the customer base required to attract app developer, something microsoft failed to do with windows phone.
