The local chocolate factory sells wrongly shaped chocolate for £3 for this huge box

    You can’t quite see the size of the box, it’s a normal cardboard box, so like 30x15x15cm roughly

    Shape doesn't matter. Lol

    @hack they’re supposedly premium chocolate so they really care about that kind of thing. Usually it would be about £3 for a single bar. I agree though lol

    Uhhhhh gimme

    @Hu-bot0x58 I’d imagine so. Or just melt it down and remould it or something. Either way, I’m not complaining 👌

    @Hu-bot0x58 It's clearly not being wasted if they still sell it.

    At least they didn't fucking throw it away.

    Hypothetical question but where can one acquire duck glorious bounds...
  • 5
    @Hu-bot0x58 it's their choice to sell it

    From the sounds of it, it's big enough and brings in enough profit that some scraps can be sold.

    Again I say, at least they're not throwing it away.

    But: chocolate!
    Forgiven this once. 😋

    Damn! I just paid so much for so much less than that. I want to live where you live.

    Buy a fuckton of those. You dont need anything else to eat.

    From the looks of that chocolate you're going to need to remelt and temper it. OR...

    turn it into delicious delicious FUDGE.

    @zacg @Hu-bot0x58 It seems that there are multiple kinds of chocolate (normal and dark?) combined. So they can't easily melt and use it again. I am very sure that they did that if it was possible.
    Otherwise, they could make another product out of it, but I am not sure if that was worth it. The initial costs for this are very high, "mixed" chocolate could be less wanted on the market, the number of outsorted chocolate bars is too small etc., so it is more worth to sell them for a few pounds and gain a good reputation on top of that.

    @Benedikt the long ones are a mixture of dark and milk chocolate and they taste exactly like toblerone

    @ShahriyarRulez yeah

    @zacg You're lucky; you could buy them cheap and use them to make chocolate chips for use in cookies/cakes/anything else. Or melt it and... well, do anything, really.

    @Alice @Floydian I bet you could email the company (they’re called House of Dorchester) and see if they would ship you some. I reckon it’d be quite expensive because the box is actually really heavy

    @Floydian depends what you ask for. The way it works is on the front of their factory they have a little shop where they sell the regular stuff but they also have a stack of those boxes. Not sure how often they renew them but I’ve heard it’s daily

    Where do you live?! Im packing my gear right now!

    @zacg send me some 😍

    @Hu-bot0x58 it could have been heated to too high temperatures or some moisture had come into contact with it, which kind of makes it impossible to sell as premium chocolate.

    @norman70688 Could you describe it in one word? I have eaten four Snickers bars at once once, and even a lot of those Hershey's kisses (say, 15-20) and gotten a massive sugar crash. But I am unable to imagine what could be so horrific, especially hours later...?

    @Condor I like Belgian chocolate but I love Swiss. They pack delight in form of chocolate. But beer? Belgium all the way.

    Bless the guys who wrote the code for automating the chocolate shaping thingy whatever.

    Like, "Hey did you resolve all the bugs?"
    "Umm, I left the last one there for world peace."

    @Condor When I visited Brussels, I feel in love with Belgian Fries. I'm already a fries fan. xD
