Not that it's bad, I like it a lot actually, however I'm alergic to some SO answers explaining a simple js problem with jQ. It's similar to dropping a bomb into mole's hole because you don't like it. :(

jquery is awesome and powerful if you know how to use it. problem with jquery is not jquery, but stupid developers.

same argument could be made for any php/java framework. if you give it to a shitty dev, he'll only create crap with it.

@kargaroth Totally agree that's why I said syntax, I am not used to it. :) I know it's very powerful.

So much this. I hate it when people use jQuery without thinking, especially when someone is asking some really simple question on SO. It's like hunting birds with a canon. With this new project I decided to go pure JS and it's so refreshing that you know exactly what is happening under the hood. Also, most of the time you only use a portion of jQuery, why waste all those kBs.
