NO IOS, I DONT WANT TO SETUP A FUCKING TOUCH ID. I DONT FUCKING TRUST YOU WITH MY FUCKING BIOMETRIC DATA AND I DONT WANT TO GET A NOTIFICATION ABOUT SETTING IT UP EVERY FUCKING HOUR.

    What's your two cents on how the settings are set up?

    I think it's a fucking disaster and nothing really makes sense as to why a certain setting is where it is.

    Where I live it's legal for law enforcement to use biometrics to unlock a device if it's set up. That's why I don't use biometrics...

    @Stuxnet It took me 5 FUCKING minutes to find the date/time settings.

    That’s what I fucking think about them 😡
  • 2
    @linuxxx Exactly. I've used iOS for the sake of making my opinion towards iOS even more solidified, but I really hate the settings.

    None of it makes sense. The only thing useful I've found about it, is you can put your cable account in it and it should automatically sign you into apps that require it to stream things.

    Other than that, it can burn in hell.

    @linuxxx did you know there's a search function?

    @bcye On what where?
  • 1
    @linuxxx in the settings app.

    @linuxxx with an iphone on his hand.
    by his choise.

    WHO ARE YOU? And what have you done to the real linuxxx???????
  • 5
    Why the fuck are you using ios
  • 3
    You didn't even want to use a stock version of Android why on Earth are you using iOS?
  • 1
    What about Android? I have it set up on my OP6. Its very useful especially when standing on the train
  • 5
    For someone who knows how to use terminals and root Android phones and live a digitally private life with custom configs, you sure have trouble with that one smart phone.

    I couldn't stop myself from dropping this comment after seeing your rants past few days. 😄

    Do you want to setup TouchID?
  • 1
    They say they save your fingerprint locally and it never touches apples servers. They also say it's also not synced between devices. Granted that's just their privacy policy.
  • 1
    @WhAtEvErYoUmEaN Yup they say that. The source code of iOS is also closed source so you can’t verify shit and apple is integrated within the biggest mass surveillance program ever created so I’ve got a hard time believing that.
  • 4
    @linuxxx I knew it had to be you plus I was expecting this kind of rant from you 👍👍🙅🙅🙅
  • 1
    "Are you sure you don't want to set up Crapple TouchID?"
  • 0
    But but apple knows better what's the best for you
  • 0
    You realize that you can decline to create Touch ID and Face ID in the settings and never get bothered about it again right?
  • 0
    @linuxxx to search just swipe down on the home screen and type what you’re looking for
  • 1
    @linuxxx "apple is integrated with the biggest mass surveillance program ever created..." Huh? Do you have a source on that? I thought Apple was the good guy in class when it came to privacy
  • 0
    @aaxa yeah...apple says...
  • 2
    You know they save your "biometric data" as a hash
  • 0
    @Jifuna and passwords in plain text <3
  • 1
    @Jifuna I don't see how that could possibly be true at least if you mean a cryptographic hash. cryptographic hashes are sensitive to very small changes so unless your fingerprints scans exactly the same every single time that wouldn't work.

    @aaxa some ways Apple is worse than Google. For example, when the Chinese government threatened to block iCloud, Apple handed over all of their users data and the encryption keys. In contrast, Google opted not to and was blocked from the county.
  • 0
    @DuckyMcDuckFace Ah, I see. But that's only for the Chinese people, and I can't see what that has to do with mass surveillance here in the west
  • 0
    @aaxa well if that is the decision they made in China, they probably made similar choices in the west.
  • 0
    @DuckyMcDuckFace Your statement is as much proof and convincing as my poop is the colour of rainbows 😅
  • 0
    @aaxa alright well you do you man.
  • 0
    @DuckyMcDuckFace Tbh, I was asking for a source. There are well too many people in here just stating their opinion and presenting it as proof.
    I know Linuxxx usually don't do this, hence my initial question.
    No need to feel salty

    @aaxa Lookup the prism program on Wikipedia. It’s been public knowledge since 2013 :) (Snowden revelations)

    @linuxxx Thanks man :)
  • 1
    Sad fucking cunt
  • 3
  • 2
    @Jifuna appreciate the effort but where's the source code so it can be checked? Otherwise it's just an empty statement in my eyes really...
  • 3
    @linuxxx Yeah, you're right that can't be checked
