eeee31226yOh yeah, and then there's this: https://spotify.com/account/...
Which only works for playlists.
This is hilarious. What a crapplication. -
Rundle5226yWell to be fair to Spotify, I don't think it's their fault. You didn't notice the "Songs" button disappeared? Granted, they should have had some sort of notice, kind of a sketchy naming scheme, so I'll agree with you on that.
Also, contact support. They honestly have some of the best support I've ever used (just from my experience). They moved my entire library to an entirely separate account, they should be able to restore your songs 😊 let me know how it turns out! -
Why not just make one big ass playlist?
From the way u understand it, you just saved songs to your library and played them.
So just make one big ass playlist and hit that sucker on shuffle.
PS thank for the link; had no idea that existed. -
Rundle5226y@Stuxnet I think he's more just bummed that his entire song library is gone. They should be able to restore it pretty fang easily though. Like I said, got my entire library moved to a new account, the whole process took 5 mins.

@Rundle I get that. I've accidentally wiped an SD card with several hundred songs on it.
More or less just offering advice for the future. -
eeee31226yI use playlists for genres, occasions, collections, etc. Songs is for all the music that I would listen to at any time with a skip button at hand.
Here's what happened and how I didn't see that the Songs list was gone / replaced:
1. Listen to Songs
2. Somewhere through the day update Spotify, Songs now is called Favourites
3. Fail to notice the name change
4. When Spotify opens, click on the album art of your last played song to go to Favourites
5. Close laptop lid after some work
6. Hours later, open laptop lid and notice you're looking at Favourites, not realizing it's the good old Songs because of the distracting heart icons ALL OVER THE PLACE *bleeding eyes*
7. Conclude that somehow all kinds of non-favourite songs have become favourites and that the list should be nuked to become useful again
8. NIFO
9. Look for Songs
10. Try not to cry
11. ...

eeee31226yGuess who's firing up good old IFTTT to automatically add ALL THE THINGS from Songs/Favourites to a backup playlist...
-
Hmmm I don't use the desktop version frequently so I'll have to take a look at thism
-
eeee31226yDid I mention that it worked? It did, so please use disconnectedness to backup your music. If you say it like that, you realise how stupid Spotify's system is. How hard can it be to have a basic undo functionality? Even I've built that into client-side software and I'm no rockstar developer.

So a minute ago I deleted all my Spotify songs, because Spotify now calls them Favourites instead of just Songs. Fucking morons. I thought I had loads of mediocre music in my favourites, and because I don't use favourites, I thought: let me just remove all songs from it so I can start over.
Turns out: that's all the songs I've ever added to Spotify.
Once I realised what I had done, I quickly turned off internet to see if it hadn't synced yet, but of course: FML, it was published. I quickly turned off internet on my phone and opened Spotify: gone already (the bastard was open) before I could turn internet off.
So, my last hope: turn off internet at home, fire up my old Windows PC, open Spotify, put all songs in a playlist, turn on internet, let it sync (au revoir songs or 'favourites', hello new playlist), restore all the things!
Luckily, I booted that old PC (and Spotify boots automatically in the background) last week, so it should have all my songs (I didn't add any this week). I'll let you know if it worked.
And heads up: your songs are now gone, you now have 'favourites'. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
