Met this "movie critic" a couple of days ago. Kept bashing U.S.A cinema and just telling me how bad Americans are at making movies and "captivating" audiences with "vapid plot lines and dialogues" and bla blah blah.

Dude was Indian, made evident not only by the physical appearance, thick accent as well as the fact that he would mention it every 5 seconds

I was trying to drink my beer and stay quiet without saying anything or messing with him or anything. Till he kept pushing me and asking to give him a serious argument against his claims.

Honestly I could not give two shits about what he was babling about. I am a pretty simple dude, I like action, horror, drama etc etc. I said that I did not wanted to get into the argument since I really didn't care.

"Typical American mentality! You don't care. Just about shows your brain power"

Ah man, I ain't about being disrespected like that. Was not gonna lay him out since I still wanted to keep drinking. So I said:
"This is pretty rich comming from a dude whose country graced the world with Bollywood...now you either back off or I'll show you some real Krrish shit there Patel"

I have never seen anyone turn red that way. Its pretty funny really.

I was able to keep drinking my beer in peace afterwards.

Btw no hate meant towards Indians. I do hate Bollywood movies and wish my Netflix was purged from that garbage but oh well. That is for a different moment of randomness.

    That's fucking hilarious.

I was at a restaurant and a bunch of New York transplants were bashing the city I go to school in and talking about how bad it is compared to NY.

After a while of this bullshit I finally turned around and said "look if this place is so fucking bad, then please for the love of God get back on the highway and take your ass back to New York."

They were like "oh god no we'd never go back."

I then said "well shut the hell up and get used to the fact we're not New fucking York you freaking tools."

My meal was peaceful for the rest of my night.

@Stuxnet lmao well said my friend. I am a pretty chill dude. Don't like being rude at others and generally just want to have a good time with everyone. Some people just manage to push on them buttons.

I really don't know what to say. May be that stupid person hasn't seen much of the Hollywood movies. He was rude. The reason for not watching enough of the Hollywood is : may be can't understand that well.
P.s. I am an Indian and you did the right thing. By the way Krish doesn't fall into the category of the movies I will suggest even to an Indian.

    @AleCx04 Exactly the same dude.

I'll be nice and chill until you start being obnoxious. Then you're meeting the asshole side of me.

I am an Indian and I watch only Hollywood movies for 2 reasons
    1. Fresh stories
    2. It helps improve vocabulary

Tbh as as Indian, I hate bollywood movies too. Most of them are a piece of garbage just for entertainment, but there are really good movies too. We got hundreds of different languages spoken here in my country and not just bollywood there is mollywood which produces really good movies. To be frank every country has its own part of really shitty movies and great ones.

    😂

Honestly, this is the attitude everyone should have.

@Root i am by all means and purposes a really violent person. Have been in my fair share of fights and rather enjoy them. But for the most part try to be as accessible and acceptable as possible and would much rather enjoy a drink with someone than lay down fists.
My tios(uncles) would tell me that it is always good to buy the other party a beer after a brawl as to say "fights done, we settled, now we can be friends or be done with it, but lets close it up either way with a drink"

I would much rather everyone drink in peace. Friendliness and politeness is much more enjoyable than having arguments, makes for a better atmosphere.

I do partly believe that a lot of the USA cinema is trash from a purist's point of view. Every country has its gems and rags.

But sheesh, I'd never bash my opinions down the throat of anyone, let alone draw conclusions based on the fact that the individual won't dive into the discussion

    What an asshole.
