Tech Hiring is so cooked now. Every job posting I see is like this

Must have 5+ years experience in:

TypeScript, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Java Spring Boot, PHP, Angular, React, Vue, CI/CD, DevOps, AWS, TensorFlow, Machine Learning, Flask, Flutter, Swift, Android Studio, Blockchain, ROR, Perl, Redux, Clojure, C, C++, C#, Golang, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Java.

Please don't apply if you don't fulfill all of the requirements.

Then the same company: "There is not enough qualified workforce in the job market! 😭"

yeah I don't think anyone knows what they're saying

also apparently statistically the average person applies when they only meet 30% of the requirements

also they're never requirements. even that is a misnomer. they say requirements when they're nice-to-haves. sometimes they're just simply listings of everything every developer at the company ever used and has absolutely nothing to do with the specific role

people being unspecific like that drives me crazy. what's the point of language if you're not trying to communicate clearly

and I'm over here saying no to things because "well I only touched it once". but to these people that counts. they think expertise is "yeah I read a blog post about it once"

... I can use something for months and years and still feel too sheepish to say I'm an expert

wtf is "REST" as a requirement lol. or SQL. I can't admin SQL with hacks -- that's always what I think they mean. but I think they mean can you write a query...

This looks like a company pretending to hire so they can say they are expanding on paperwork. Cooking the books.

Why pay for a team when you can pay for one guy that does the work of a team for the pay of half a guy?
